Replacing Sports Grip Wrap on Predator BK2

Has anyone had their "rubberized" sports grip on their Predator BK2 replaced?

If so, what material did you go with and who did the job?

(My wrap has deteriorated and I finally got around to removing it entirely.)

Thanks,
JoeyA

Friend of mine had his redone with leather,,, might have been done at the expo... was nice.

My friend, and fellow PBIA instructor Lance Cowles does an excellent job putting stacked leather on Predator (or any other brand) cues. He can also dye it to match almost any color. Maybe he will see this thread and post some pictures of his excellent work! He posts here as Bossman69, and on FB at Cuesports of Battle Creek.

You could always send it back to predator and get the wrap replaced with the same material. Pretty sure the seyberts team does the wrap work. This is of course assuming you liked the rubber grip.

I would prefer to have NO WRAP and a slick finish but I don't know if that can be done. Maybe, I could put a sports wrap back on it and have someone trade me a NO WRAP BK2.

What do you want to put back on it?

Thanks Scott.

I would like to get away from the rubber grip if possible. But I would be crazy enough to try the Flex Seal but would probably wind up with a tear-drop shape instead of a cylinder shape. The price is right for sure. Lol

This is going to sound like a joke. Flex Seal. https://www.shopatshowcasecanada.co...MIyvDxp6Gc1gIVAQlpCh1OiQ_HEAQYBSABEgLCb_D_BwE

Make tape outline of where you want it.

Spray on and then pull tape off (Painters Tape would work) while still wet.

Let dry and you are ready to go. Might take a couple of coats so you'll have to make new tape outline and repeat process.

Thanks!

That is a fine repair job and if I can't get a slick finish or trade for a slick finish I would consider this.

Thanks!

I've changed my Predator Sport butt's rubber grip to a linen wrap. I've done leather too. But the groove are normally deeper than the regular linen ones. But a cuemaker/repair guy could easily use a thicker leather or add some padding below to make it flush with the cue.

It's this cue: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=454276

bbb...I was at Lance's the week before you. You're sure right about him being meticulous in his cue repair business. It's one of the qualities that also makes him a first-rate instructor. Lance is excellent teaching stroke and fundamentals, and game strategy in any game...but he's a top-shelf one pocket instructor (one worth traveling to, to take lessons at his Cuesports of Battle Creek training facility)...he is able to dissect the game, show several options with every shot situation, and demonstrate to an expert degree any option chosen by him or the student. Couple that with expert communication with the student. Those skills are rarely demonstrated together...especially with one pocket.

Once I had my butt fall apart. It was painful. Never thought of replacing it. Recently my shaft started to become a little rough. I used a little bit of lotion a 5000 grit sand paper and after a week it was back to smooth. I recommend playing with less intensity. This will allow both your butt and shaft the proper healing time between treatments and allow you the to get the most out of your stick. Otherwise you could go blind.
