Well, i'm not sure where to start. I just know i'd like this soapopera to end.
First, i'll hold myself accountable yet qualify it.
I now feel, and probably always will feel that it is acceptable to out a copycat in public. "of course copycat is subjective"
Unfortunately, its now apparent that this was not one of those times. Up until a few days ago, i truly believed this was unique to me. I was shown a picture by a friend of an early viking cue with rings near identical to the ones that started all this. Also, Stew has apparently done it.
My initial outburst was real because this is my design or so i thought as i had no pre-disposition to the cues i've since seen. In the future i will be more diligent and public in my research before flipping out.
Rick,
When i saw the picture, i took it way personal as we shook hands and cut up at the show. Had this been anyone else, and under different circumstances then this likely would have gone off way different. I felt a little betrayed.
Regardless, i'm not the originator or the owner of the design, nor do i want to be now.
Now what bothers me more than anything is the drama thats been stirred up and the apparent loss of friendship. Tony, chose his words poorly and quickly....as did both of us. No difference
Anyway, no hard feelings here.....sorry for the sh.t storm
jakob i talk to rick this morning about shipping my joint protects and he said there are no problms and he is soory he used the bad language before he understood you feeling......also time heals all wounds....
he asked me to post some pics of our friend stews inspiration on the slant inlays so we can have a laugh........it came from a 1700s hurdy gurdy that stew saw in a marketry book in the los angles library.....rick yesterday went on internet and many of those instruments had that slant style inlay pattern called tiles........even at 89 stew remember right away where he got the idea from over 30 years ago....most things have been done before........
