Responses to my thread about APA entitlement on For Sale forum

In response to some of the negative comments - I am extremely polite to each and every player. I always shake hands and tell them good game. I pride myself on that aspect of my game. There's more to the story also.

They have a weekly tournament at the room I shoot out of. It is for skill level 6 and under. Sevens are not allowed to play. We convinced them to let us play for 2 weeks. The stipulation was that we had to give everyone a 9 - 2 spot! That's pretty tough action - but we were just happy to play. Then we got boycotted again. It's BS. I am not elite. I just would like to compete. We tried to have a tournament between the sevens and there aren't enough if us. It's the first time I have ever heard - you can't play because you are too good. Come on - it's not like we are pros...

i guess you dont have any open tournaments in your are if any. we have 1 or 2 in my area almost every week that usually has 32 players in it and most are 6's and above plus serious non league players. its a shame you dont have enough players in your area for some thing like that.

as far as being too good. i went to a local bar tournament and won it. went back the next week and was told i was barred. i am only a 5...its all relative on what some one determines ...too good i guess.

In before Kim posts another ignorant, stupid response.

Perhaps you can try to create a different format and run your own tournament at your local establishment. 5s and above with games on the wire to even it out or something. Think you could get a dozen or more players for something like that?

Good luck finding a satisfying game.

lorider, he's further away from everything than I am, by another 30-35 miles.

Fortunately the room he plays in is much nicer than anything we have. Still, being in a small community, its pretty much just league in our part of the world.

2strong4u...Your figures are WAY off, but I expect that from APA bashers who obviously don't know what they're talking about.

APA handicaps and real pool are not even the same game. Sir you are never going to get satisfaction in the league because you are beyond it. You are not a jerk for thinking this because it's just a fact. Everybody plays and everbody wins....especially APA headquarters and league ops taking 40% of the pie.

I've heard similar numbers from different sources. I'm not expecting a payday from the apa, so im not too worried. I think that they could still profit off of a better model and that they're simply opening the door for competitors.
