We had a super strong field today at Hagerstown Billiards & Cafe for the 4th annual Brian Barrett Memorial. The field consisted of Shuff, Mike Davis, Matt Krah of Delaware, Gerry Slivka, local player Carl Jones, Ryan McCreesh, young upstart Richard Barney and some fine play from darkhorse Bob Davis of Waynesboro, Pa and many other outstanding players.

Hagerstown based but well known elsewhere Carl Jones played an outstanding tournament defeating both Ryan McCreesh and Slivka on his way to a very hard fought 4th place.

Matt Krah also had a fine showing finishing third after Shuff avenged an earlier loss to advance to the final against the always steady Mike Davis.

The final (one race to 9)started out back and fourth with Mike running a few racks to grab an early lead. Brandon gained control of the table then and strung together several racks of his own to go ahead 4-3. After trading the nexts few racks Shuff was able to capitalize on a few Davis errors, string together a few more racks and win 9-6. For his efforts Shuff recieved the $690 1st place + paid entry to the 2006 U.S. Open

1st: Brandon Shuff $690 + U.S. Open entry
2nd: Mike Davis $480
3rd: Matt Krah $300
4th: Carl Jones $200
5/6 Gerry Slivka/Bob Davis $100 each
7/8 Ryan McCreesh/ Ken Hess $80 each

Way to go, Brandon Shuff! This kid's on fire. Look for him to do well next weekend at the IPT qualifier.

I know he's thrilled as can be winning that U.S. Open entry fee, and the tournament winnings is always a bonus. What a great win!:)
