With the schedule change we did not have a full field this month(24) but we DID have a great time! Our next event WILL be on the first Saturday of November, which is the 4th.

Once again we had several new faces as well as numerous returning players which included top picks Carl Ray from Waco, Benny Scott from Waco, always a "strong player" Charlie Bennett from Killeen, and Charlie Rikard from the Mexia area.

This was a very hard tournament to call. The players clearly missed the mark as all the top picks fell quickly. The highest finish for a top pick was 9-12th!!

Finishing 5-6 were new comers Zach Ballas from Denton and John Deluna from Wichita Falls. Good job guys!

Our 4th place finisher was Jesse Garcia out of Wylie,Tx. Jesse was playing with an OB-1 shaft and he was really making it work!

Speaking of making it work, our 3rd place finisher was none other than Tim Byrum. Tim has one hell of an ability to focus. He not only got third place but he also did cue repair and sold some billiard supplies without missing a beat!

The road to the finals was a straight path, right down the winner’s side, for the holder of the hot seat and Wichita Falls resident Mark Webb. Mark defeated local “young gun” Joseph Oliveraz 7-5,then Ralph Bullard (always tough to beat)7-6, Then took down Jesse Garcia 7-3, finishing out by derailing our cue repair guy Tim Byrum 7-1 for the hot seat. Waiting for his opponent Royce Bunnell of OB-1 Cue shafts to weed his way through the winners side before being derailed by our versatile cue repair guy Tim Byrum. On the one loss side Royce defeated Denton "young gun" Zach Ballas 5-2, then his running buddy Jesse Garcia gave him a run for his money but lost 5-4.Now for the re-match of the cue shaft "maker” and the cue shaft “repair guy”. This time Royce kicked it up a notch and defeated Tim Byrum 5-1 returning him to his lathe! The final, which was one race to 9, proved to be exciting! Neither player seemed comfortable, they were both making errors and it teetered back and forth. In the end, Royce came up short 9-7 and Mark Webb would be our new Champion.

Thanks to Jim Ashby for running a smooth operation at Clicks Waco and allowing us the use of the hall. Thanks to Tim Byrum for bringing us cue repair and a fine collection of Jerry Olivier custom cues, some nice production cues and billiard supplies. We had a new sponsor this month to thank, James Hanshew custom cues. James brought one of his cues to shoot with and I must say they hit really nice. His workmanship is commendable! Our next event will be Nov. 4th. Look forward to seeing you all! A very special thanks to Lewis Jones of PKL promotions for sponsoring us with a paid entry to the Fast Eddies 9 Ball Tour event in Lafayette,La on the 14th & 15th of October.

The details are still being worked out as far as the apyout. I'm gonna poll the players and see how they want it payed out. It is their money. We can pay 1,2, 3, or even 4 places {depending on # of entries.} doesn't matter to me.

Right now though, I have about 10 solid names.
Anyone wanting to enter can reach me at 210-367-4761 or lewispjones@hotmail.com.

Missed You'all!

;) Yes, 9 ball_JJ will be bringing Jesus!

If you would like to get to know Jesus please be in Waco for the Nov. 4th event. That is the first Saturday. I can honestly say that I know Jesus and he is one heck of a nice guy!

Remember, no pros or anyone who has a 5-6 finish in a Major event. If you’re not sure about your qualification please call ahead.

I AM Jesus!! But probably not the Jesus they are talking about. I'm trying to stay under the radar...lol

OBcues will rule the next tournament!!

lol..........I think that I'm going to try and make this coming month, but if "JESUS" is going to be there, I guess we will all be playing for second place.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely be calling Ray to reserve a spot.

BTW...I just want to give a little plug for James Hanshew's cues. I was the guy talking to you about your personal j/b cue a few months ago from Dallas. He makes some good cues everyone and fair prices too. :D
