Let's get back to the things that made this forum great...what would you do if you faced this situation? If you play like Efren, you do what he did (Page 2). Don't peek!

BTW, this table is drawn exactly as Efren faced it against Chao in 2004 in Japan. The 2 does not go past the 4.

CueTable Help

all i see is cutting the 2 in the bottom left corner and hoping to get shape. Or play safe but im no efren. And where is page 2?

Thats one heck of a safe. I would prolly have slow rolled the 2 toward the 7 and got the cb behind the nine. Man he must have known that cb would get directly behind the 5.

I think for 2ball to only move say 10" and cue to go 14feet cut angle is not realistic in this diagram. I probably should add I've been wrong before.

I like hitting the 2 almost straight on, with the 2 ball going two rails back down table towards the 3 ball and then leaving the cue ball behind the 4 ball up table.

You are absolutely correct in your observation, my only goal was to show Efren's intent of shooting the 2 at the 7 (to somewhat control how far the 2 travelled). Efren's priority was the CB, which is why I drew it this way. The smorgasboard of lines that would have resulted from showing the paths of the 2 & 7 would have only cluttered the diagram. :)
