Yesterday I received my new X-Breaker from Richard (Nipponbilliards on AZ). The one I recieved is a dark stained Curley maple and is 1 of 1, no other ones are going to be stained as dark as this one. The weight on it is a natural 18.2. No weight bolts added, but some were provided if I wanted to change it.

First and foremost, it looks absolutley beautiful. It is aestically nicer looking then the previous version of the X Breaker. the metal rings have been substituted for back rings and the joint is now a large phenlic joint with black joint rings, rather then just the small white rings on the previous one.

So how does it hit? Absolutely fantastic!!!! Without a doubt an improvement over the previous cue which I thought was fantastic as well. The new tip design has ridges in it. It seems to be the same material as well. Chalk stuck to the previous smooth flat design real well, and it sticks to the cue even better with this one. This cue offers a ton of control on the break. The whole cue in general feels a lot more solid, delivering a devasting hit to a rack, balls just go everywhere. After my first three breaks with the cue I was left with three easy run out patterns that would have been a cake walk to go through. Of course you are not going to get left this everytime, but hey, if it's happening more often, Im not complaining.

Jumping with the cue is just as easy as with the older model and control during a jump is even easier due to the new tip design.

Richard's customer service was incredible as well, prmptly replying to emails via phone, text message and email regarding anything. His loyalty to his customers will keep me coming back to his company for future products. He is all around a great guy to deal with.

Richard really made a fantastic product and took the best break cue out there and made it even better.

Thank you for the review. I am glad you like the new rings, they are all threaded on.

Your X Breaker has a very unique stain, it is different from the new golden oak X Breaker that we will be offering from now on. The stain on yours is called Red Mahogany.

I have a question: Do you think this new version helps to reduce unwanted spin on the cue ball off the break. I would really like to hear your feedback on that aspect. If you have the time, please try it out a bit more first. Thank you once again for your kind words.

Very nice looking cue. The stain really sets off the wood. Sorry Richard, I could not wait any longer and picked up a demo model Omen J/B. It hits and jumps well. Only thing I may do is change out the single piece phenolic tip so I can side break. Good Luck!
 
Richard,

Stopping the cue ball on the break is really easy. All you really have to do is make sure you contact the head ball square and the cue seems to do the rest of the work. Really easy to control the white.

The new tip design seems to be one of my favorite aspects about the cue, other then the new look of it. The new taper on the shaft feels great to, and correct me if im wrong but the shaft seems to be 0.5 thicker then the older model?

Excellent review, Heath! I am sooo looking forward to receiving mine. It'll be nice to actually stay at the table after my breaks, for a change.

That stain really looks great on your cue....but then, I already told ya that...Lol.;) Richard, as far as the aesthetics go, I love the fact that you are constantly 'changing things up' with different woods and stain options...makes the likelihood of running into the same X-Breaker smaller all the time. Definitely NOT your 'cookie-cutter' break cue!!!

Just wait until y'all see mine!;) :D

I know what you meant by not wanting to run into someone with the same cue, that is one of the major reasons why I used Tiger Maple. I notice that Tiger Maple has very unique grains and they are different from one piece to another. The difference seems to be more noticable than Birdseye. Besides, Tiger is more rare than Birdseye to be seen on jump break cues.

Our objective is to make all owners of X Breakers really proud of their cues.

By the way, we have changed the joint a little bit. When you receive your cue, you will notice that the insert on the shaft(the piloted part) touches the wood sleeve on the joint collar when the cue is tightened.

I have tried to break with the new x Breaker when the cue is only 90% tightened(although I would not recommnd you do this all the time or with crazy force), and the hit is still very solid. I notice that there is hardly any movement between the shaft and the butt once the insert is about half way down the wood sleeve. I believe this close tolearance at the joint also contributes to a more solid hit.

We have done the same thing on the jump break joint. So, even if a player fails to tighten the cue totally after making a jump, he/she would not risk a bad miscues on his/her next break. I personally do not like quick release joint because there are lots of gaps between the male and the female, after a while, they also tend to come loose.

You can also joint the long handle to the shaft for longer jump if you want more power and accurancy, all sections are interchangable.

that looks like a nice addition to your collection of pool equipment. If you have time, please make us a video of the cue in action, breaking and jumping balls. I have always enjoyed seeing your skills with cues and such in the past. ;)

is the complete length of the butt with the maximizer on it?

The Golden Oak model looks nice, but I think I like the Red Mahogney (Icon of Sin's cue) better. I like what they have done with the tip, with the grooves.

Mine fits into my case with no problems.

I think the Red Mahogany is 1 of 1, I dont think that color is going to be offered :D

Oh and the Tip, it hold chalk even better then before thanks to those grooves.

How important are those "grooves" in the tip to getting consistent performance? Won't they wear down over time?

Each time I receive a new X-Breaker, I think there's nothing better to break and jump with. It happened with my 1st gen. X-Breaker, then with my 2nd gen., and now with the new one. Congratulations Richard!
