Review, Story, and Critique-New JB Custom Case

Great looking case Bruce.

Wonderful write up.

Please share; who did you learn from?

Being perfectly honest Tom I am a very capable writer if I want to spend the time proof reading, editing, and getting it as good as I can I will do that. Like when I was a Photojournalist working out of Sacramento, and made my income off of my talents as a photographer, and writer. Call me a LAZY OLD RETIRED BUM.:)

Most of the time I am in a hurry, and if it is not my best effort that is what you get for nothing. Plus HONESTY!

For you to write so well in such a short time, is simply amazing.
This post almost reads like a 'testimony' that you would see in an advertisement. Very well written.

Spent time doing the write up, editing my words, and putting effort in it. So you see what I can do if I feel like it.

BTW, I thought you said you only played One Pocket?.. why would you need a break/Jump cue holder for this case... Just curious.

No I do not only Play One Pocket, it is my favorite game, but if my One Pocket playing buddy is not around, and some one say 14/1, 8 Ball, etc., I will play.

Holy Dead Cow!!!!!

Not my color style of case...but in this case I will make an exception....Very nice.

Way out of my price range also.....My case was $1150.00 cheaper.

I think its a freaking riot that this guy is one of the most jingoistic people on the forum with his creepy "Made in the USA" clown avatar, telling everyone to buy American and such but then he dons the knee pads to talk about his Chinese case. Personally, I've got no problem with imports and the case seems nice enough, but as the saying goes, if irony were made of strawberries, we'd all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now.

Snark, this is ART. Cowboy commissioned a work of ART. He did not buy a Toyota instead of a Ford. ART does not know boundaries in creativity or geography. You don't have to possess ART to be able to enjoy it. Be happy that something so beautiful was created at which all of us can marvel.

Now you just need him to make you one to carry. I would be afraid to carry that. It is like a VanGogh. Now you need a vinyl print to carry!!!LMFAO!

That is one very beautiful case! And I kid you not!
I love everything about it, inside-out!

Well I took the Case back over to the Community Leather Club again yesterday, as a couple of other members wanted to see the Pool Cue Case. More praise for JB CASES!

When I have the time, and inclination to add a few more comments I will as I have some other observations to share.

But I honestly unless you had the opportunity of looking at one of John Barton higher end works in person, the pictures do not do JUSTICE to the work.

I honestly think one need sit down for a half hour in good light to too see, and appreciate the amount of work that goes into one of these HAND TOOLED CASES. It take that amount of time to really see what is there, and examine each element of the work.

Last you have to remember like a Tattoo Artist working from a set of guide lines created with a stencil, for doing the Tattoo. It is the person who hands do the work with the electric needle that creates the final look look of the Tattoo.

In the case of this Pool Cue Case it was the hands of John Barton's, talented employee Zhen Hai, who get the credit for this unique one of a kind work of FUNCTIONAL ART.

Each of Mr. Zhen Hai work are unique, one of a kind, and some day I think Cue Case Collectors will be scrambling to add one to their collection.

Honestly you do not want to get a Tattoo, or pool Cue Case created by me as you would not be happy!

Great Review - Decision made.

I've been researching cases for a while now and after reading your review I'm finally settled on getting a case from JB.

Thank you for the very in-depth review. I'm not sure I need a "custom" case, but I will definitely look for a JB case. Maybe one of the Flowers tribute cases, maybe I'll wait for another great deal to pop up on the forums?

I wonder if that wonderful alligator print case sold that Karen posted? Only reason I didn't go after that one was I wanted more storage. Oh well, I'm sure another great opportunity will present itself.

Thanks again for putting the review together. Great job!

Hey there C.C.!

Could you show how that fancy latch works?

Thanks in advance!

I honestly do not think you can go wrong with a Jay Flowers Tribute Case, recently JB Cases did a variation of the Jay Flower Tribute Case, Karen Barton posted photos.

The case was made for an Asian Lady going to the World Championships in the Philippines, I understand, it apparently turned a lot of heads when people saw the case.

One features that made this Pool Cue Case unique was how the Pocket Zippers, Zipped Wrapped Around the Square Pockets, for better access.

If you need more information on this, or have any questions about my case please PM Karen Barton, as she is lady to get your question answered.

**I honestly need to take a break from AZ Billiards Forum, I have some personal problems going on that I spoke of last week, they need my attention now.

No I am not leaving AZ Billiards Forum just taking a break, will be back when I have the time, and inclination to do so.

Happy Trails!

Yes Cowboy, thank you.

I was expecting it to be more complicated, but it works exactly the way it looks like it works!:scratchhead::shrug:

Great review and case there Bruce! I just pulled the trigger on my perfect case also!!

I knew John was building me a J/P-Chalk Holder, but until I opened the box, I had ZERO IDEA how it was going to look.

Now that right there is awesome. I absolutely love that chalk holder/JP holder. What an excellent add on to a case.
