Revo carbon fiber shaft new tip Kumui clear installed and there is an intermittent click noise…….

I noticed the old Kumui clear pad was partially left on under the new Kumui clear tip installed. So now the clear pad potion is nearly twice as thick as it should be….
Is this correct and why do I now have a clicking noise on certain shots.
I have played with this Revo carbon fiber shaft for almost four months with no noise.

it is possible there is a tiny amount of air space in the pad to pad join, causing a click.

Take it back to whoever installed it and have it fixed. Or, take it to someone who will do it right the first time. Brian.

Most likely there is a portion of the tip/pad not properly glued down. I've had this exact scenario happen twice in the past. Eventually the tip will pop off.

I've had these happen several times and in all of my cases it's always been an air pocket.

Air pockets and lack of glue in that spot almost always cause the “click” sound. As mentioned above, cut the tip and pad off and correctly install new tip and pad. A new tip properly prepared will correct that problem.

Easy fix sell the CF shaft buy some high end wood shaft. The end.
so he should sell the cf shaft he obviously likes to play with because someone installed a tip incorrectly because some guy on az doesn’t like them and get a wood shaft. That makes total sense.. said no one at all.

My first woul be how hard of a tip did you put on? I get clicks from very hard tips. Besides that what's not normal is the extra pad. I would start with that first.

I just had some insanely hard tips put on carbon 3c shafts and the sound is completely different.

I feel I've also had more than a few tips with the air pocket too.

Glad I got that off my chest.

Also possible the top layer of the tip is delaminating.

I agree with this. I have a Revo 12.4 and just had the tip replaced. Maybe the tip was old stock, but it is definitely not a soft tip like I requested. The tip is awfully hard and figured the annoying clicking I hear was delamination.

I use my break cue to play with from time to time and it has a very hard tip. I do get that ping sound quite often.
