RGC..100% perfect

Dartman, I'm just using the poolroom lingo that when a player gambles on a table that he truly has his cue ball under total control while under a great deal of pressure for big cash, then the table to us is perfect. When you cut a ball down the rail at a certain speed you know just how far the cue ball will travel across the table. When that happens you know the table is right, a good player will tell you, this table plays perfect.

Now, as far as a perfect table, I don't believe we will ever see one in our day, or for that fact know what it would be.
The players love the way this table plays, I love the way it plays, and now DIAMOND is by far the best table, bar non! IMO

The table don't bank short, don't spring off the rails, and to me the table is awesome.
I'm not trying to start anything with anyone, just love the way the table plays.

!0 different players played on that table, and even the ones that lost all their cash said the table plays awesome.
Coming from a pool player that just lost his cash, and didn't blame the table, well that alone speaks for it's self.

The table really plays good, and I very happy to hear the players say for the first time, wow this DIAMOND table is awesome.
Trust me, these are not APA players, they are the real deal.

I'm not trying to say I'm the man, I fixed Diamonds table at all, just trying to make the players more comfortable playing on the Diamond table, and so far so good. 3 days of non stop action on the table, and no complaints so far.
Believe me, all pool players blame the tables, I've never missed a ball in my life, it was always the table.

Not knocking anyone or any table, I'm just saying this table is awesome.

Mark,
I don't doubt for a minute that whatever modification you made obviously resulted in some improvement to this particular table - beyond the top quality that Diamond already builds into their tables. I just find it odd that "good players" wanting to play for big $ would choose to play on a barbox regardless of what was done to "fix it". I see another DVD on the wish list.

BTW - which Champ cushions did you use?

Rick, Mark installed the Diamond black K55 cushions on the Diamond, the player he's talking about had Diamond install the Championship Tour Edition K55 cushions on his 7ft ProAm he bought for his house.

Rick, the great thing about what I've done is I reused the same cushions on the table from the factory. I understand about the new cloth hangup that OTLB keeps saying. My Avatar has a pic of a GCV in which I changed the the same things on that table and had to use new cushions for rail ext. and new cloth.....1 1/2 yrs. later and it still plays the same as when I did the table. The tables need to have this change in the rails for their max performance of the cushions your using. Why the 7' smart table....this guy plays his best on the 7'ers, and bets high......9' diamond is soon to follow.

I give the credit for knowledge of the change to Glen, all I did was the work on the table...hell right now Glen is on the west coast, and I'm on the east coast.....so I ether got real lucky on this table or Glen knows what he's talking about....and I follow instructions really well.

Just trying to get the complete scoop here after reading your post and Glens -

Correct me if I'm off - the dude that can only play great on a 7' table had his home table done up with TE55's - and at whatever location the other table is in you reinstalled the black cushions after doing a bevel modification?

I guess this leads to another question - if the home table has TE cushions (and I'm guessing no bevel change) then the dude feels this setup gives better cushion playability on his table then the standard black cushions? I know a lot of folks complain about the standard Smart table cushions but it seems there's also not a lot of love for the TE cushions. Personally I think they're ok - just don't like the rough edges.

Rick, the TE55 cushions are an OK cushion, what I don't like about them is how soft they are. It's because of the softness of the cushions that they play a little slower on a Diamond and that's why the customer ordered the cushions to be installed on the 7ft ProAm he bought new from Diamond, but his thoughts were that the Diamond cushions were the reason Diamonds play to fast, and the TE55 cushions were HIS answer to get a better playing table from Diamond. I could take the same TE55 cushions and install them on any table and get the maximum play out of them, but in order to do that I'd still have to correct the sub-rail thickness and bevel to best fit them cushions or any other cushions for that matter to play at their best. No cushions, no matter who makes them or says otherwise play perfect at any sub-rail thickness as it's the sub-rail thickness of the rails that determine the alignment of the cushion behind the nose correctly to match the cushion together with both dementions to give the best performance of the cushions.

Uniformed playing tables is exactly what I'm after;) and THAT is what makes them perfect as far as I'm concerned:grin:

Exactly right, but until there's only one manufacturer making on one model table (man wouldn't that be nice - for us anyways), there will always be differences and people will always view those distinctions differently.
