I hope who bought it knows it's an import.

Hey Jimbo,

You seem to know a lot about this cue. I would be very interested to know how you know it is an import. Is this suspicion due to the story behind the cue, or do you know something I need to know?

Thanks!

Hi Chris,

I think you are thinking of a different cue. I have never spoken to you nor received any message from you regarding this cue. Since the sell price on eBay was definitely not $911.00, I think you have me mixed up with someone else.

Yeah, Jim. I bought the cue. Never heard of Richard Glen, but there are so many no names out there and Aaron seemed very authentic when speaking with him. I never suspected it was an import until I read your post here.

What kind of juice do you have on this thing?

Chris,

It just occured to me that you may not have been referencing me at all with your statement. Could you be saying that Aaron bought the cue off eBay??? If so, this definitely DOES NOT match the story I was given behind the cue.

Very interesting...Thanks for all the insight and heads up!

Cue will be inspected next week when it gets a new wrap. I will say this much...the cue is really nice. it hits and plays well. it has a real good balance to it and the shafts both produce a lot of action. of course this is all due to the mori tips, and a decent taper... but the shafts appear to be well made)

The quality of the inlay work is up there with many well known cue makers, but the ring work is pretty weak. The ring work looks nice until you make a close up inspection. Many flaws in the ring work. Nothing unforgivable in a hand made cue, but certainly not what you get from the top names out there. The real test is how the cue stands up to time. I suspect the cue is older than stated due to the condition of the wrap, but this is a total guess on my part. I am actually hoping it is older since this would mean the wood and the ivory is stable and through moving around. Crossing my fingers on this one though.

I don't think Aaron was trying to slight anyone, but it is very possible that he just took someone elses word on where the cue originated.

Fishy story?? You bet it is...but, I spoke with him prior to buying the cue and knew what I was getting into when I bought it. I believe that he truly believes the cue was made by a man named Richard Glenn. And, who knows, perhaps it was.

Joey,

First, let me say that I truly appreciate your opinion and I am with you guys on this, but for the obvious reasons. I was very skeptical about the cue prior to purchase. Don't be sorry, man. I said I knew what I was getting into when I purchased the cue and totally agree with your statement about someone in NY making the cue and being an unknown. I too think it is highly unlikely. Those were my thoughts exactly when I started looking into the cue on eBay. But, I took a chance and got one heck of a cue for the money.

Once I got the cue, it was inspected by a well known cue maker in SC, and even an expert with years of experience in the field could not say it was or was not not built by somone named Richard Glenn, and he didn't dare make a comparison of the work since cue design is so easy to duplicate with the right tools. He was very surprized when I told him what I actually paid and stated that I got a steal on the cue. Bottom line here is whether the cue was worth what I paid for it and that has proved itself out by an additional $700.00 since I have already been offered $1750.00 for the cue and am not willing to sell it due to the quality and playability of the cue.

Your comparison here does not really solidify a position whatsoever as to the maker. I do not see the work telling us anything and Butt cap and bumper looks the same on many cues from different makers.

Most cue makers have their special touch when making cues, but the 3 cues below look strikingly alike even though they were made by 3 different makers. So, I think making a comparison of work based on a picture is a little unreliable.
