Right Side/Left Side

Im not sure if it'll help but line up you're shot,get back up,move your feet left or right 1 inch and get back down and try those shots.
 
I think many of us have funny little things we do assist our play, but I think it can get out of hand.

Not too long along I was practicing and a guy came in, took the table next to me, and soon thereafter his instructor came in. I'm trying to mind my own beeswax but then the guy starts to describe to his instructor everything he does with various body parts to line up his stroke: hand thisaway, wrist there, elbow like this, shoulder just so, dominant eye accommodated, and then the pièce de résistance: a particular movement he does with his heel.

I'm listening and wondered how -- with all that in his head -- he could ever make a ball, much less play position. I decided to unscrew to prevent infection.

I am a very strong left eye dominant...(shoot left handed).......Many many moons ago in my travels....I was given a tip from a genuine authenticated certified actual world beater that I should come into alignment on all my shots from right to left....Walk around the table if you have to....just make sure you are getting on the other side and coming into your shot line with your left eye first....right to left........He said it also develops a consistent visual pattern.

So basically...short answer is..........I aim with my left side..........

IMO...I suspect it has to do with how dominant one eye is over the other.....If you happen to be a directly under the chin shooter...I suspect it does not matter as both eyes a fairly equal dominant....but if you shoot under a eye....or favor a eye......you probably want to come in from the side that brings that (dominant) eye into alignment first.

In my case he saw that (like him) I was very dominant in one eye and shoot with cue under eye.
 
Not sure if I use either side more than the other but I like to line up behind the shot backed away from the table, then I step forward into the perceived shot line left foot first followed by my right foot. FWIW i shoot right handed (left hand bridge) but do some things left handed like writing and batting but I throw and kick right handed.

There's been a significant decline in the vision in my left eye so that I'm noticing these little glitches appear that are new to me.
I've always been a drop and fire kinda player. Missing too many now for that to continue.
