Hi all. I know a person that he has a nice viking cue and he made a modification on his shaft. He add a silver ring between tip and ferrule. May i ask if that offers something or affecting the shoots in any way ? I ask the owner whats the reason behind that and he told me that he hits more solid that way and he likes the shaft because its kinda fancy on the top now.

Is anyone experienced with something like that before? I am intresting to do it on my cue to, but only if improves my performnace and not only the appearance of my cue.

Thanks

Well right off the bat adding a silver ring would add some end mass, something everyone is trying to lighten. I cant say as to whether that would drastically change the hit but I personally could find a better use for a silver ring.

Are you sure we're not talking about a Kamui-Clear variety tip here?
No one uses a metal 'pad' under a tip.

You are so right. It looked a bit shiny so i assumed its a metal or silver ring. What appears to be is the Kamui-Clear tip. Sorry for misunderstaning

I used to have a guy (strange guy) I might add. He used to have me put a .030 metal pad under hit tips. he said it makes them more solid. I hit with it. It didnt just do that but it made the cue ball squirt a whole lot more. I wouldnt suggest doing it!!! Did I mention this guy was very strange!!!

I did this to match the rings on his cue butt.
