Ring Game lookin' good!

Grady

Pro Player
The Bank Pool Ring Game is looking really good. We have four players: Jamie Farrell, Buddy Hall, Glen “Piggy” Rogers and Ritchie Richeson. We are taking six so anyone who would like to get in this great affair better hurry up. The entry fee is $3,000 and a $1,000 deposit is required. They’ll start at $100 a bank and end up betting $1,000 per bank. 15 ball bank pool with no safety is the format.
The date for this ring Game is Sat., Dec.11th, 2004 at 7 pm at the event center of the Grand Hotel in Gulfport MS.

Grady again I will be attending your tournament. Will there be a Calcutta on the Ring Game? Just curious.

Can you give me a little more info on the way the ring game will work.
Is it pay by the ball or game or both?
thanks

Sounds great Grady, but at the risk of sounding like a Pool Idiot, i will say this: Please make it short rack banks. I am not from Kentucky, so i don't get to see too much bank pool. A few years ago i seen 2 A+ players playing 15 ball bank pool and it just took soo damn long before anything exciting happened. But with safeties removed and the ring game format it might be a little more exciting.

Yobagua: If there's enough interest and time, I'd be glad to do a Calcutta.
Frankncali: It's by the ball starting at $100 a ball, and going all the way up to $1000 a ball. When the last ball is made, the balls are all racked up and the player who made the last bank shot gets to break the balls wide open. If he makes a ball on the break, he's allowed to continue shooting.
fxskater: With no safety, the full rack is the way to go. Before deciding this, I consulted several experts besides myself and they all agreed.

Jason Miller and John Brumback would make 2 more good candidates. It should be a great game Grady. I may have about 8-10 guys from Indiana coming down there. Sam

Videotaping/TV

I don't want to be premature but there is interest from television. If we are able to obtain quality TV I will insist on having editorial and poetic license, including picking the commentators.

I asked if Grady had considered making his own videos on an earlier thread but he didn't reply. I still think if he just had one or two cameras and charged less than accu-stats they would be popular. He runs the best tournements and could get some other characters to help him with the commentary. I'd take an interesting match well commentated over a five camera $40/match dud with boring commentary.

Thanks for the positive words. I really need them right now.

Understand the operative words, right now, Grady. Hang in there my friend. Things could break wide open in the near future sir. You deserve it.

Hemi and Vagabond. Lets try to make this one and meet up. Im ready for some Southern Hospitality.

Yobagua, I'm planning on attending Grady's tournament and hope to get to meet you as well as Hemi and Vagabond. This will be a great event and Grady can use our support. Hang tough Grady and we'll be there. Sam

Well, I spent 5 days at the Senior event in Biloxi and a few days at the Seminole event in Naples and I intend to try to make this event in Gulfport. I like Richie Rich in this event, but I'm pulling for Jamie Farrell just don't tell Buddy that I'm pulling against him... (oy-vey ! my headache is coming back).. What's the deal with seating and V.I.P. tickets ? Doug

I was wondering about the seating as well. Something like this I would love to see ringside.
I agree with the Mark Jarvis pick. Heres another. Grossman.
David banks alot better than most know. I watched him play Gary Speath(sp?)
years ago and he broke even after a few hours. Davids always been aggressive at the table as well. Good for a ring game.

I am hoping to make it back from SoCal for the event with a few buddies but
I am not sure. Pretty close to X-mas and I come back south for that.

BTW---- How you feeling?? Feel any different??

I should see Grossman at the Seminole event at Capone's on Jul3-4th and I'll mention it to him (though there are probably people reading this that can mention it first)..
I'm feeling stronger/better every day and in no time at all, I should be back missing the same shots that I've been missing for the last 40 years.. Yeehaaaaaaaaa ! (Raise the bet !)
