I have a gold crown III in very good condition. I would like to have the pockets tightend (properly) so it plays more like a diamond .I'm curiuos what the price is or does it make more sense to trade in the crown for a diamond pro. I live in the chicago area, are their any mechanics you have worked with, close to chicago, you would recommend? Thanks, Tom

If the table's in good condition, I don't really see any reason to get rid of it. Cost is basicly $500.00 for labor, Artemis cushions $275.00 cloth$ I'm on the way to Chicago right now, will be in the area until about Wednesday next week.

Tom M. I can give you RKC's phone number, or hell he probably already has. I talked to him today and I think he's gonna bring me something nice next month sometime. You should hold out for him to do the work no one on here regrets it ever. He's a gentleman to speak with. You can also donate a GCIII to the help Mike Frost beat Efren Fund. JK

Glen,

I see that you'll be in the Chicagoland area this week. If you have any spare time to do some work on a 9' Diamond, please send me a p.m. Thanks.

If there are good mechanics in the Chicago area I have not discovered them. But, without a doubt, without the slightest shadow of a doubt, there are none like Glen. He is unique. If he takes your job, you will be amazed at the time and care he puts into it. I can't imagine any other mechanic doing what he does. I know this because he just rebuilt my GCIII last week. As I said in another thread, it's now the best table I ever played on.

I would recommend waiting for Glen. Talk to him, and if he agrees to do the job, be patient - the demand for his services is high. Just shoot him a PM every now and then to let him know you're still interested, and good things will eventually happen, as it did for me.
