I was wondering about the book Road Player , the Danny D story.

I love to watch Accustats videos when Danny is commentating and I'm sure I'd enjoy the book.

I'm curious how those of you would rate the book specifically relative to the book Playing off the Rail and Hustlers Days as well.

its not a bad read but id rate it far below playing off the rail and hustlers days both. Its about 180 pages if i remember.....the stories are ok, just not enough of them
 
I just completed the book, I like it but would rate it a little behind the others, I really like Playing off the Rail, read it 3 times, everytime I come back from DCC, and meet some of the charaters in the book, I get home and re-read it. But Road Player is worth the 20 bucks IMHO.

I loved Road Player, and prefer it to either of the other two, although I enjoyed them immensely. The difference is that Road Player is a vista through five decades of pool's road life with a legendary player who was there for all of it, and he tells it like it was. And of course, without disparaging the skills of professional writers like McCumber and Dyer, Danny is by far the better story teller!
 
I'm looking forward to reading Danny D's story also

I gained a real appreciation for Danny DiLiberto from his one quote where he was flashing the light of truth on Rudy Wanderone. I'm paraphrasing, but Danny said. "Most of the public is completely ignorant about what a pro pool player can do. Wouldn't I look ridiculous if I said I could kick 100 yard field goals or said I could run a mile in under 2 minutes. All it would take to expose me as a fake would be for one person to say 'prove it'. Yet the TV viewing public knows next to nothing about pool so they're hanging on this guy's word and the rest of you pro players are giving this guy more credibility than he deserves."

Now, I'm not writing this to bash Fats, but Road Player is a book I'm looking forward to reading.
