Road Report: The Jarrod Clowery Benefit Tourney Held at Snookers, Providence, RI

I think Mike Dechaine deserves some props here too -- he got Predator to donate a two cue and case package that Mike then sold 100 raffle tickets himself, raising $2000! He was also singled out by Jarrod for coming to visit Jarrod during his extended hospital stay (several operations to remove loads of shrapnel -- still two more operations to go).

One of the things Jarrod commented on was how touched he was by the incredible outpouring of caring he felt from the pool community. As you may know, he was doing carpentry and not playing much pool before the bombing. All the reaching out to him from the pool community is inspiring him -- he says he'll be back. Oh yeah, he says he loves us all right now, but if we compete in the future, it's back to taking no prisoners, lol!

What a beautiful photo. I am not familiar with the lady, but those dimples of Mike Dechaine's are absolutely adorable. He really is cute, and that smile is infectious. And Jarrod is really handsome. I mean, what a hunk! :grin-loving:

She won the cue raffle -- sorry I didn't catch her name.

Jarrod also speaks really well -- if you haven't watched some of his news appearances you should. He really speaks "from the heart" which makes it powerful.

Rich Britt takes Jarrod Clowery Benefit 9 ball tournament

68 players came out to support Jarrod Clowery. He was hurt in the Boston Marathon Bombing.
I would like to thank Mike Dechaine, Predator Cues they raised $2,200 in a separate raffle. Snookers Raised $500.00 MD promotions raised $1,510.00 the total that was raised for Jarrod was $4,210.00
I just want to thank everyone that helped with this event.This Event got everyone together for such a great cause.

68 players came out to play pool on such a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Here was a list of the notables that were in attendances. Rich Britt Mike Keith Kerry Mcauliffe Steve Goulding Mike Dechaine Tom D Alfonso. the format for this event was race to your handicap alternating break.

I saw some great pool and everyone had a awesome time for a great cause.
winners side Final ( hot seat Match). Mike Keith A player vs Rich Britt A player race to 6 games.

Rich Britt would win the set 6-3 and take his place in the Finals. Mike keith would play Steve Goulding Owner of snookers. Steve Goulding A player 6 vs Mike Keith A player 6 Mike keith would win 6-5 over steve Goulding. The Finals Rich Britt vs Mike Keith race to 6 true Double elimination. The first set Mike would win 6-0 the second set Mike was ahead 3-1 and Rich Doug deep and won the next 5 games to take the Victory. this victory was special for Rich he was by Jarrods side through the whole ordeal and he stayed with Jarrod at the hospital every day.

It makes me cry reading this, but they're happy tears. This has happened a lot to me lately. I cry when I see happy things. I don't understand it, but I've been doing it a lot lately. :embarrassed2:

Must be something in the water up there in Massachusetts. That Rich Britt is easy on the eyes himself. What a good-looking man! :wub:

It slipped my mind this was this past Sunday :mad:

I had plans to go but son had Jr Leauge and I also got cought up with planning his Vegas trip and my daughters wedding wich are 4 days apart LOL which basically made my brain drop most other thoughts out my left ear.

Sam is a good player, especially considering she was a low C player less than a year ago. I think Mike Dechaine is teaching her though so she'll soon not only be one of the prettiest people in the room but one of the best players as well.

Snookers is the only other room I go to regularly aside from my "home room" in Ayer, that Wed tournament is probaly as tough as any other weekly in the country. Although the big attraction for my son is the pizza and ice cream sundae :D
