Role Models

This might be approaching the question from a different direction, but I say Savannah "The Roadrunner" Easton. She's 12 years old (maybe 13 now?). She plays very good pool, beating adults on the women's circuit. She has a great attitude and shows respect to the game and opponents. Watching her play is really something. She has a good pace, looks at a shot, then preforms. If she misses she takes it in stride. It's refreshing. Her mental game is strong. Kid's don't want to watch some crusty old guys or gals, they want to see someone their age.
 
I'd go with Varner. Savannah is a great player and very well-mannered but I don't think a barely teenager should be going around gambling and missing school to play in tournaments as a role model to others. She would be a good player to emulate for mannerisms in a match though.

Yes, certainly Allison has always showed class and respect, win or lose.
 
Did the school Steve Mizerak teach at have any students that remember him for teaching?
 
i admire the zen players, souquet, efren, gorst in pool and mark williams in snooker. but that kind of serene approach is unattainable for me, probably is for most people. if i get a mean skid i want to slam my cue or fling the chalk away. feijen isn't zen but controls his temper admirably and is generally polite. his work ethic is incredible too. so i would say feijen

Boston Shorty
Jimmy Matz
Florida Bob
Jose Garcia
and for variety: Big Steve....... possibly considered an outside choice.......but a legend all the same.

Rudolfo Luat as one of the often overlooked players from the Philippines.
 
Nick varner……went to college…was a champion
mark wilson….great coach ….director of a program at a university (linsum?) teaching pool and how to be mature responsible adult….author great instructional book on pool “play great pool”…excellent commentator
