The better player is going to win most games most of the time regardless of rules
this make belief thinking that 1 foul some how ruined the game is like saying the King james version is ruining christianity ,,,, its simply a non factor

By your response, it seems like you possibly may have not played much push out pool. My idea was to entertain the possibility of a strategy changing the outcome of the contest by controlling the flow of the game.
One pocket players that don't have the abilities to run balls like their opponents can take down a sharpshooting player who isn't familiar with a higher caliber level of play. To a lesser degree, roll out offers some of the same ideas where a lesser player can overcome a difference in ability between two players. I'm not talking between a champion and a newb, but where a match would be equal with one player spotting another an eight or nine ball, or the last two.
I say this from experience. When I first started to play 9 ball, it was in ring games at the bars. After moving into the pool rooms and being unfamiliar with push out strategies, guys that I could beat were giving me tough games. I learned the ropes and eventually used that knowledge to torture players that couldn't move as well as I did.
And I never thought one shot foul was ruining pool.
