I was trying to look it up. Is Ronnie in the BCA hof?
No. Ronnie Allen and others in his genre of pool may never be considered for the BCA Hall of Fame, mainly because the BCA Hall of Fame is more for tournament championship wins when it comes to pool players.I was trying to look it up. Is Ronnie in the BCA hof?
no. seeing how his career was almost all gambling based he may not get in. who knows.I was trying to look it up. Is Ronnie in the BCA hof?
I’ve always suspected that Ronnie Allen was the best all-round player ever…..in his prime.no. seeing how his career was almost all gambling based he may not get in. who knows.
Fatty served a purpose, but let's be honest the fat one was a much better self promoter than he was ever a proven player. If the bloated one is in the hall of fame then let's be real and let Pretty boy Floyd, Ronnie, and Keith in.... hell lets make a power move and let Ed in to the hall of fame.No. Ronnie Allen and others in his genre of pool may never be considered for the BCA Hall of Fame, mainly because the BCA Hall of Fame is more for tournament championship wins when it comes to pool players.
There are exceptions, however, for people like Minnesota Fats who's lifetime legacy of contributions to pool is noteworthy. He had a way of attracting mainstream America, especially with his antics versus Willie Mosconi. He was inducted in 1984 for "Meritorious Service."
Here's what the BCA says about Minnesota Fats: Perhaps the most recognizable figure in the history of pool, Rudolph "Minnesota Fats" Wanderone was elected to the Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service. Although he never actually won a designated "world championship," Wanderone, the game's leading comic, orator and publicity generator, has probably done more for the game in terms of sheer exposure than any other player. Initially nicknamed "Brooklyn Fats," and "New York Fats," Wanderone dubbed himself "Minnesota Fats" after the film version of "The Hustler" hit movie screens around the country in the early 1960's. Since that time he has become known around the world as pool's foremost side show. "Fats," whose exact age is a mystery, hosted a national television show, "Celebrity Billiards," during the 1960s. He stopped playing in tournaments around that time.

Maybe there needs to be a new category for those players of the game from that era. He may not have won a lot of big tournaments, but I guarantee he beat all those players who did. That's got to be good for something.I’ve always suspected that Ronnie Allen was the best all-round player ever…..in his prime.
Ronnie beat some of the short stops who could win a tournament on a lucky day….playing even up one pocket shooting one hand to their two.Maybe there needs to be a new category for those players of the game from that era. He may not have won a lot of big tournaments, but I guarantee he beat all those players who did. That's got to be good for something.
