Roomba - can it clean a pool table?

The pros do... Robots can be sophisticated things, and could put an end to pattern-racking, rack-manipulation, and arguments of the rack.

I just had a flash of the future.....:idea2:

“How could you lose to that guy?”
“R2D2 is an idiot!”....

Do you also run it on open tables during business hours? The customers might get a kick out of it.

Just down the road from Steve's in Huntsville they play Roomba pool. 8 balls positioned on the rail one diamond up from each of the corner pockets. Buy a ball for 20 bucks. Roomba makes your ball you get the cash. Hilarious to watch a bunch of grown men standing around a table screaming at a vacuum.

I dunno about a Roomba and pool, but a friend tells me that running your Roomba while trying to housebreak a pet is a bad idea.

I just got the latest Roomba model, 980. Can you use a Roomba to clean a pool table?

If you use it for table only.... it's fine. If your gonna use it on your floors, nope....

Using it on your floors first is like using a microfiber towel on your floor and then using it on your table. You wouldn't, or at least I hope you don't do that as you will regret it at some point.

As for rooms that use them:

They are used only for the tables, nothing else.

That’s hilarious.....I’m in!

It's funny until an angry loser picks your Roomba up and throws it to the floor because it didn't push their ball in.

You can always bar the person that threw it but does not change the fact that you now have a $1,000 pile of plastic.

It was over $5 bet.

Yep, there are some real winners floating around in this world.

Scott Frost uses a modified Roomba to clean the cloth on the 30 Diamond tables at Freezer’s Ice House. He buys his from a guy who mods them for this purpose. Awhile back Frost gave the contact info on his Facebook page.

Did he say how they are different?

Don't hold your breath. Won't happen in our lifetime and then some.

I'm sure some wag said the exact same thing about pinboys and automatic pin-setting machines.

Seems like we have some folks with the 'everything has already been invented' mindset.
