Rooms in Reno

The cost of flying is very non specific. I just booked a flight for my mother, round trip to Los Angeles for $199.

The cost for a one- or two-person flight is most likely non-specific as well, now that you mention it.

It would be relative to the scheme of things, in lawyer parlance. :p

I am sure that you already thought of this, but if Keith/You are going to be going to all these IPT tournaments by air over the next few years, it is best to stick to one airline to build up your frequent flyer miles. Look into the airline too, some just changed from 25,000 miles for a free round trip to 40,000. Sites like Travelocity & Expedia, etc. will also send you vouchers by email after you become a repeat customer with them.

Im not sure it is best to stick to one airline when you can save $80-$200 by searching the net which you often can. Saving big on flights is better than miles in my experience.

Slightly misleading

I never noticed C.J.'s or David's feet before. I think they were wearing shoes, though, last I did see them. I thought C.J. was in Texas and Matlock in Kansas.

The $1,100 for air/hotel (10 days at Reno Hilton and round-trip airfare from D.C. to Reno) is for one person.

The round-trip airfare for one from D.C. to Reno -- without the 10 days of lodging at the Reno Hilton -- is approximately $299 to $340, depending on the arrival and departure times.

I could have locked in the Sands Regency hotel deal with the D.C.-to-Reno round-trip airfare, which is located across the street from the Reno Hilton a/k/a "Grand Sierra Resort," for $850, but elected to stay at the host hotel for the tournament.

For future references and other az'ers the Sands is not across the street from the Grand Sierra, it is about 3 miles away.

I know that CJ Wiley & David Matlock are from the Ft Leonard Wood area, I'll have to ask them at what age they started wearing shoes.

CJ Wiley was born and raised in BRANDON, MS. His school teacher, in response to my enquiry, told me that CJ was a nice kid when he was growing up.

If you use Mobissimo.com -They check all the sites for you incl cheaptickets.com

That's a pretty cool site. I was checking it out and saw many advantages to using it as it does a global search for sure. :)

I'm glad I have reserved mine by today. The cost of the airfare has gone up about 100 bucks now, due to it getting close to September 1st. AND when I went to Mobissimo, which I do like a lot BTW, the cost for the airfare and hotel combo deal was $400 higher than what I got it for.

TIMING is everything. Right about now, it being the 13th of August, September 1st is right around the corner AND less than 3 weeks away. Hard to believe! :p

Yeah it is sneaking up on us. Doing that Travelocity thing, I dont see any increase in the Pkg deal on my end at this point thankfully. The flight is pretty cheap $364. I think it helps to be returning on SEPT 11TH!!.

Still i have not pushed the buttton. I think (and im wrong most of the time it seems) that if Tix sales are off, when the decision makers come back to work tomorrow, we will have some price cuts. Ill make my decision tomorrow afternoon.

Does anyone know if there is a shuttle to the Hotel or is it a cab situation? Thanks

Yes, sorry I did not make that clear. We are bringing our own personal chauffeur/sweator, so they will be shuttling us back and forth. Otherwise, you would need a car. The rates at the Hilton minus the car matches those at the Sands and has many advantages. :)

I will be staying in a place called the Atlantis, but I have no idea how far I will be from the tournament venue.

Anyway, I hope to meet all of you there. I am staying from 4th August to 9th August.

Do you want to correct your statement?

You are so excited you forgot what month your talking about. Also the Atlantis is about 3 miles away from the Grand Sierra. 2.8 to be exact.
