I'll admit I always use a dime shaper on my shooting stick but, after a few racks, that dime shaped tip becomes a nickel shaped tip.
if you spin it a bunch go dime radius. if not a big spin player go nickel. pretty simple advice. i like a dime the best. not much diff. its part real and part feel.Googling!! And I lost too many money shot last night. I had to file my tip back to the shape I used to. Now it is ways more confident shooting with it
If That's the case, then may I suggest you hold off on using so much juice on shots. Concentrate on center ball, angle and speed for shape, rather than loading up and missing.Googling!! If this is the case, you tip is too soft.I'll admit I always use a dime shaper on my shooting stick but, after a few racks, that dime shaped tip becomes a nickel shaped tip.
I don’t have problems with my stroke. It is the throw, and induced spins that made me lose the games and I knew that it was the tip. I was used to a little flat on the top of the dome shape. But I went on and completely rounded it off. The more spins it applied as explained above were spot on. I am using 10.5 mm. The problem is solved now since I flatten out the top a bit as I used to itIf

Work on your stroke and it won't matter much the shape of your tip dude.
Pull any house cue off the rack and you should be able to get what you need. If not, tip shape is the least of your concerns. Apologies, but there it is from an old road dawg.
Hope it helps. Good luck to you my friend. Good post.I don’t have problems with my stroke. It is the throw, and induced spins that made me lose the games and I knew that it was the tip. Yeah, I don’t have problem using any of the 12.4 or larger tips as long as it doesn’t have warped shaft. Just using center ball and ghost aiming is fine.
