router question

Cue Guru,

I think it is the only laminate router made by Rigid. (1/4" Shank) It is in stock at Home depots. I have extras in sock in case they stop making them in the future. I don't want to mess with my bracket. Darrin made it bulletproof.

OK Rick sounds good.

However, I do not suggest shooting your router mount...

PS does it accept the larger shank cutters as well, or just 1/4 inch?

And, I know the run-out of the laminate trimmers has been discussed ad-nauseum; but if cutting with the end of the cutter, I think (know) that lash (axial motion) must be at or near zero in that case. I will indicate the routers I have with a tenths indicator and see what shakes out.

I think most who comment about router run out are referring to their use as a spindle in the CNC application. Having a spindle with as close to zero run out is a must in that application. In the tapering application solid tool holder, good power, sharp carbide, and high rpm is the key to a smooth RMS finish.

Router Mount Pics

Cue Guru,

I will bring a camera to the shop tonight and take some pics. I will try to post them tomorrow afternoon. I work late into the night and sleep late in the morning.

You may be able to get an collet adapter for 1/8" but I don't think that would help in this application.
