rules on cueball and obj ball both in rack

What do you do when both cue ball and obj. ball end up in the rack.?
Are there more than one version of this rule. For example BCA rules vs. World St. pool rules or other organizations. Etc.

No, there is only one rule for this. Here is the way it read in 1921:

Rule 10 ... Should the cue ball and object ball interfere at the same time, the fifteen (15) balls are then framed on the table as at the commencement of the game, the cue ball is "in hand" and the striker continues his run.

The BCA is part of the WPA which decides the World Standardized Rules. By that membership, the BCA is obliged to adopt the WSR.

Of course, a local league can make up any sort of bizarre rule set it chooses to, but if it departs from the official rules, it does its members a great disservice.

yes, that was the nature of my inquiry....

i may have posted this previously but long ago i was playing a guy 14.1 and i left the c-ball in the rack to set up a behind-the-string b-ball which, as we all know is quite common. my opponent was adamant that the c-ball went inside the foot-string but he thought the foot was the head. i tried to straighten him out but to no avail. incredibly, when i confidently grabbed the rule book, it too confused the head-string with the foot-string and my rookie opponent was certain that he was in-the-right. lol....

Had a situation the other day. 15th ball was exactly on the foot spot (likely placed there from an earlier errant pocketing. Since this situation is NOT highlighted anywhere in your little table ..... guess it stays there and all 15 are racked as in the beginning of the game.

Our conversation generally revoloved around whether or not the foot spot was "In the rack". I guess we finally figured it out correctly.
