Rules...

Haha true that. I made a post, found the answer myself and couldn't delete the thread.

Soooooooooooo...what was the question?

..and what was the answer?

Some may disagree with the answer....

..and many will feel that the question itself was extremely inappropriate.

Nah crazy New Zealanders trying to tell us you HAVE to chalk the butt of the cue or it's a foul. I mean, really, everyone knows the rule is that you must chalk the joint. Sheesh!

That would keep the cue from slipping on the floor while you are holding it, especially for the hoppe style bumbers.

Need to add my funny "overheard in a pool room" story, probably my favorite. Two players were at a table next to me. They started talking about what this chalk stuff was for anyway. One of the said, in all seriousness, "you put it on the tip and it falls off on the table to season the cloth".

I was pretty much speechless also, it was probably the first time I did not walk over to explain what something was for, as I usually try to help out when I see people trying to play and they have some misunderstanding about a rule or a way to play. I don't think I have ever heard anything more wrong about a piece of pool equipment that did not come from the poolkillers poster.

This might compete...

I interrupted a couple trying to twist the heads off two mechanical bridges so they could "get the protectors off the sticks" and play.

They were standing next to a wall rack full of house cues.

LOL

Although, a place called Rack n Roll in Boston, not only managed to place tables about a foot away from couches that were along the walls, but also put the cues in the bridge holders under the tables. Maybe that couple visited the place. In addition to the house cue storage issue, they somehow managed to have huge spills on their tables within a week of opening.

Rules

I have to agree completely with the original poster here, there's really no doubt.
