Ok here is the six ball. A quick explain of the shots

A) Picks up some follow from the cloth and trickles down to the left rail.
B) Comes off the left rail and with the english spins down table.
C) Comes off the left rail and with the spin drifts out.
D) Comes off side rail then end rail and up table
E) Draws straight back to that position
F) Comes off side rail then end rail and spin brings it straight up table.
G) Draws back to position
H) Comes off side rail then end rail and comes up table
I) Draws back to position

I assume it's 8 ball and he's playing for position on the 8.

I prefered the challenge of getting on the 8 before you changed it.

For this, I'd stun dead (with a drag screw) on the 6, maybe drifting just 3" toward the rail.

If playing for the 8, I'd consider deep drawing up the table with left side to bounce out toward H. That is if it was straight enough.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but follow isn't going to get you to 'D'.

If center gets you to 'A', using follow would then mean you'd contact the side rail further down than where 'A' is and have no chance of getting back to 'D' (which is around where I'd try to get to, but I'd hit it with center and try to punch it off the side rail).

Wait. It just dawned on me. You must be getting to 'D' by following two rails, right?

Me too! Absolutely stun it off the side (yes, on a 9-ft table), end up towards the center, just below D. A little stun/run-stun stroke will get ya where you want to be - assuming this is 9-ball?

A, B, E, & G is less-then-ideal play, given the plethora of other options available

Wait. It just dawned on me. You must be getting to 'D' by following two rails, right?

I actually set this up and was able to get to D multiple times. When you set it up it is almost straight in. It is pretty much lined up with the back of the pocket. It hits the left rail around a diamond up the rail. The cueball comes off the back rail and rolls up around D. This is done on a 9 foot with Granito Basalt cloth.
