I like the 14, 4, 1, 8. But I'd try to keep an angle on the four to lay the cueball on the top rail near the one. They both lie above the line that goes through the break ball from the break ball's corner pocket. So it's hard to get bad either way. I'm curious what others think about this point.

Playing to get on or near the rail for a hanging ball is a basic rule of position, imo.
