Could the similarity in our run outs be due to the fact that we both prefer one pocket? I think playing one pocket is even better than 14.1 at teaching you to keep things as simple as possible because the consequences are usually more severe when you blunder.

While I like your 'Run this' series, could you try to make some up that involve cluster play? They wouldn't have to be about the entire run out, just how to read a cluster, how you would go into it and what your general plan is from there. I think that this 'Break this' type series might fill in a gap that your 'Run This' series doesn't seem to cover.
Maybe if I ever get the chance to play some I'll post an interesting layout that I come across along with the results of my decision at the time.
Here's hoping all your run-outs look boring and simple.

There is so much personal preference involved with picking break shots especially with BIH. My preference is drawn much more to the 14 ball than the 4.
I seem to have problems with good yields with break balls low like the 4. They also have me forcing the shot more. The way that 11 ball lies, that 14 ball is a rock crusher with only a slight chance of a cross side scratch which is easily overcome with a tad of inside. The yield is huge and the CB is out of harms way. At least that's the kind of shot I like.![]()
