Running a 5 pack in 9-ball

I just decided to record myself and ended up doing this. was shooting on a 8-foot table with decently tight pockets

Good shooting young man.

You seem to have pretty solid fundamentals.

Keep up the good work and post more vids.

BTW, post them in the "ghost challenge" thread.

Again, good shooting. It's always a pleasure to watch young people show interest in pool but, it's even better when they put time into the basic fundamentals that allow you to become a very strong player later after more and more time/experience.

Nice shooting, BUT the soft break with the template rack playing the one in the same corner with similar layouts to me diminishes the accomplishment.

9 ball didn't even move if I remember correctly.

Nice Shooting! is that an Olhausen GEM model table, I owned one once and it looks like my old table that came with ball runners and a drop pocket option? I sold to a guy in Boston.

Best dungeon ever!

Kidding, great shooting kid. You play well. I practive with a template as well because it saves your back when trying to give yourself a tight rack. I'm sure you already do it but the only thing I would say is don't keep breaking the same way, hit them hard sometimes, hit them with a cut break sometimes. Try different spots.

Like I said, I'm sure you already do that for practice, but you really got the template break down for your table. Good shooting.

See my disclaimer...

Good shooting!

Play any leagues or tournaments? Fargo score?

Tried beating the 9b ghost on a 9ft Diamond?

One thing you can do when using a template rack to practice is put the 9 ball in places other than the center spot so it gets moved around more on the break. Used to do this a lot with a regular rack. It looks "goofy" but it is helpful.

I enjoyed watching and will add my 'nice shooting' compliment, as well.

I noticed that you have quite a nice cue collection leaning against the back wall with varying lengths, thicknesses and even handle styles. :grin-square:

best,
brian kc

Agreed...mix it up.

And great shooting, too. Definitely a lotta hard work invested there.

If only your powers could be used for good.!!

Excellent shooting, but kind of strange how the cue ball often slows down and speeds up towards the end of it's roll. I play in glasses myself, as it's nice to see someone who can play pool very well who wears glasses. I'm guessing like yourself, when you get your head down low on the ball, as long as you can see the cue ball and object ball through your lenses, it's really not necessary to be able to see the intended pocket through your lenses - as you know where the pocket is. Is that true for you?

Also, it's OK to use the Magic Rack template, but I would suggest a high rack with the 9-ball on the spot. It makes it at least a little harder to pocket balls on the break every time, and it's most likely where the balls will be required to be racked if you're playing in a tournament which is using the template racks.

I think that is the right model, we got it free from Craigslist a few years ago, from someone in the Cape Cod area, who had it in his garage never setup, who got it from a friend of his. So this may very well be your old table.

And there it is. It sure didn't take long for a Debbie Downer to chime in. My goodness negative people just suck.

I quit leagues I mostly play in local tournaments I wanna play in more big events. all the stuff I play in seems to not affect Fargo but it says I am a 570. Lastly not specifically on a diamond 9ft i dont usually play on those table at least not on a 9ft one.

Keep doing what you are doing AG - great shooting! it’s good to get it going and keep it going no matter what game you are practicing. That helps you get in the zone and stay there. That is what can get you to the top level - even more than creating frustratingly difficult scenarios to beat your head against hour after hour. :)
