Has anyone had any experience with the Rutland lathes? This one is 36" btwn. cntrs. Now, I know 40" is preferred, but this one may come to me at a great price if I decide I want to get it.

I also know that I have not provided a lot of info here, but I am looking for generalized info for now. I will have more knowledge of the specific lathe in a few days. But, for now, if anyone could share their experiences with the Rutland brand or even if you know of someone that has one, please let me know. Thanks as always.

PS I believe the model number is 2849-1190. When I tried to look it up, I didn't find anything with that specific number.

How big is the hole, in the headstock?...JER

Rutland Tool and Supply??

I tried dogpile which combines eleven search engines and came up dry too. I couldn't help but notice that Rutland Tool and Supply in Houston Texas seems to be a big outfit. I wonder if they imported a few lathes and put their name on them. Might give them a call.

Thanks for your efforts Hu. I'll be doing that first thing on Monday.

I believe they are the same lathe as the old Encos.
Interesting. What makes you think that Joey? Someone else said the same thing but it was just a feeling and he couldn't be sure.

Thanks to everyone. I'll keep you posted.
