I picked up a Sailor cue from a guy that pretty ruff needs to be refurbished.Is Sailor, sorry dont know makers name, is he still doing cues and or refurbish them.I had a guy look at it said it was old possibly early 70s, black dot on orignail shaft.Any help would be great thanks

He used to post regularly on here. I used to enjoy reading his posts as they were not only knowledgeable but he got right to the point.
I'd do a search on the Member's list and see when was the last time he logged into here. If it's been lately, I'd shoot him a PM.

Frank Stellman aka Sailor Cues lives in Racine Wi. I saw him about two months ago at a straight pool tournament at Red Shoes Billiards in Alsip Il he looked pretty good then. Recently there was a thread that said he was in the VZ hospital. I'm not sure about his status at this time but AZ member

Sailor is still in the VA Hospital in Waukegan as of a few weeks ago. I called him on his cell.
He was hoping to get out to come to some of our straight pool events at Red Shoes. There were also a couple of pretty good players that wanted to make a trip up to meet with him, but he couldn't get out of the hospital.
In case you don't know, in addition to being a cue maker, he is also a very well respected straight pool player and teacher, having learned from the likes of Willie Mosconi, and Joe Diehl and Charlie Cacciapaglia of Rockord.
Tom Karabotsos still plays with his Sailor cue. Sailor has taught many 100 ball runners how to play straight pool.
Recent calls have not been answered. His son, Kelly can be reached at kstellman@hotmail.com.

Kelly used to have a Karman Ghia and we used to bomb around in it....been a long time. I didn't know his dad was sailor until 1o years ago...I wish I could have one of sailors cues. I 'll have to get ahold of Kelly....I hope his dad is doing okay.
