Sample of my luck

you must have hit it pretty hard because in order to scratch, the cue ball had to hit rail first before hitting the 9 for the low right english to take that much.
 
It's hard to imagine a scratch with the position of the balls.
Is it possible that maybe there was some sort of a double kiss involved when the cue ball struck the nine?

Then it defies logic. Even if you hit the rail before making the nine I can't imagine that scratch. Many strange things happen on the pool table that's hard to explain. Try to duplicate this and it may never happen again.

It looks like the tangent line with some help from the rail. That is enough to make you want to go home and kick your dog!

Luck! How about struck by lightning, had a gun pointed at me on a golf course, ripped off for around $80,000 (left totally broke) and a heart attack at age 36 (never touched drugs). I am happy when my day is only a scratch.:thumbup:

Obviously it's possible because Neil said it happened. I'm just saying that logically it's hard to believe because from the four to the nine you need to draw and that becomes follow when it strikes the nine. And most likely he also used right english. These two forces will carry the cue ball to the second rail before the side pocket fairly quick.

To me using just draw makes the scratch hard to believe and adding right english makes the scratch even more unlikely.

IMO the condition of the table caused it to do something unusual.

P.S. I would understand the scratch if the 4 ball was further off the rail. Thus the shot on the nine would be more of a cut. But the diagram shows that the cue ball is going fairly straight into the nine.

It is possible

I think that is REALLY bad luck!

But, IF the cue ball was hit hard ( as you need to, to make the 9ball)

and the cue ball hit the rail just before the 9ball and compressed it, then you could make the 9 ball and still scratch.

The right spin will also help the cue ball strech out a little to make matters worse.
 
luck and the weirdest things.

luck- I eagled a par 4 on the golf course. stuck the ball in my cue case and went to league. when i left the bar i felt the golf ball in my case to make sure it was mine, cuz it was just a cheap black 2x4 case. I got home and my teammate called me and said that i had to come back and get my stuff. I told him i had it and He said "im looking at it right now". So i drove all the way back and had to explain to a really pissed guy that i wasnt trying to steal his stuff. He just happened to have the same exact case with a golf ball in it also.

In reality though i had a p2 and bk2 in my case and he had some cheapo cues. Im glad he didnt know much about cues because i never saw him again anyways.

weird.-- i sold a 53 chevy pickup to a guy from nc. He came down to orlando to pick it up and got out of his car wearing the same exact t-shirt i was. It was an old skateboarding shirt from the 80's. ive never seen another before or after that day.
