San Diego

Thanks guys.

Tonight I won a tough match against Melissa Little. The score was 9-7. I was winning 5-0 then all of a sudden it was 5-5. Then I was ahead 7-5. Then at 8-7 I got out of line on the 8 and missed. She got out of line on the 9 and missed and left me a tough shot. I made the tough shot to win. It was a good and bad match.

Tomorrow is a rematch from Tunica. Me and Helena Thornfeldt. Hopefully it is my turn to win. We will all find out tomorrow afternoon. The match is at 12:45. I will let everyone know.

Take care,
Sarah

Hi everyone. I have another top 10 finish under my belt. I finished 9th place. I won a tough match against Helena Thornfeldt, 9-8. Then I played Nikki Hollingsworth and won 9-3. After that it was Sarah Ellerby. It was not a very well played match for either one of us.

I am happy with how I played today (except the last match) and hopefully I will move up a little in the rankings. I hope to make it to the TV rounds soon.

I would also like to say congrats to Romana Dokovic for making it to her first TV appearance. She played great and really deserved it.

Take care and thank you everyone for your support. I really appreciate it.

Congrats Sarah. I knew you were a champion the first time i saw you (Villa Park) Nikki was hitting them real good so to beat her like that speaks for itself.

The 9 ball you made to win against Melissa Little was unbelievable. I don't think a single other WPBA player wouid have made that shot

Great news on Romona, She was hitting them so well and she knew it

Ellie, Gina and I Made it back to NY OK. See you soon

Thank you everyone.

I had a great experience here in San Diego. I played well for the most part, I got to meet a ton of new people, and the fans and facility were incredible. I thank all of you here for your support as well.

The final 3 matches were pretty intense. Romana did a good job getting to the final 4 but I think her nerves really got the best of her. Congrats to her though.

The match between Karen and Allison was incredible. With the score tied 6-6 Karen broke and made a ball and had a bank. She took the risk of making the shot and made a great shot but was hooked on the two. She kicked the two in but was left no shot on the three. She made an incredible cut shot and ended up hooked on the four. She missed the tough kick and gave Allison the runout and the game. It was awful to see one person get so much bad luck.

The match between Jeanette and Allison was also pretty good. The match went back and forth. Jeanette pulled ahead 6-5 and looked to have a pretty easy run out. She got to the six and scratched. Allison ran out and again we are tied 6-6. Jeanette broke, made a ball but had a tough shot. A safety battle began. Allison was left a shot and made a tough out for the win.

Congrats to all of them and to a great tournament in general.

Take care everyone.

Sarah,

Thanks for the updates. Keep up the hard work. I am sure it has, and will continue to pay off. We will be cheering you on when we are fortunate enough to see you in action.

Nostroke,

Would you or Sarah be kind enough to diagram that on the wei table. It sounds interesting.

Sarah,

Congrats on the top 10 finish and the win over Helena. I'm sure you enjoyed that. And I hope you are feeling better.

Congratulations Sarah on another top 10 finish! We were getting updates at Valley Forge on your progress, thanks to Doctor D at the Billiard Workbook Booth. Cory's Wife and I were taking turns checking it and spreading the word. We had a great time at Valley Forge and it was a pleasure to meet Cory Barnhart and his wife , along with alot of people from Az Billiards,Insidepool, and Billiard Digest Forums. :p

I didnt mean to imply it was an unbelievable shot- she DID have one of those in Mississippi. It was unbelievable under the pressure and circumstances that she fired it in hard and nailed it!

This is probably off by quite a bit as is my memory but she had to cut it in the wrong corner (upper left) with draw to avoid the scratch. I think it was either hill/7 or hill/hill at the time. Sarah's mother was in the balcony pacing and sweating bullets (figuratively speaking).

here is what she made in Mississippi in one of her early matches

jkjerry, thank you. I hope you can see me in action maybe on ESPN or even better in person. Thanks for your support.

Wally, thanks to you too. I was very happy to beat Helena, she is now the highest ranked player I have beaten. The shot Nostroke was talking about wasn't real tough but I guess under the circumstances it was tough.

Denny, I talked to Cory today, he said it was very nice to meet you as well. Thank you for the support. I appreciate everyone rooting me on. I hope the close matches didn't get you guys as stressed as everyone and myself. :)

Nostroke, you are right, my mom was pacing. I could see her walking around up there. She is going to waste away to nothing if she keeps that up. I'm glad you New Yorkers made it home safely.

Thank you all again.

autograph

I just wanted to congratulate Sarah on her performance at the San Diego Classic, not to mention, I have the biggest autograph from her, so she says.
Thank You very much, Rob :p

Hey Rob

I'm glad you finally decided to drop in. And you are right, you do have the biggest autograph I have ever signed :) Did the picture turn out alright??

It was very nice meeting you. Be sure to keep in touch.

I too would like to congradulate Sarah on her top 10 finish at San Diego Classic. I first saw Sarah play at the 2000 World Junior Championships in Quebec City. I was an official at the event. I remember Jeanette Lee telling her in the practise room to go out & beat all the boys. Sarah was a very confident, agressive player at a very young age. Best of luck in climbing the WPBA rankings list. I will be in Vegas to cheer you on, unless you are playing a Canadian!!!! That is only fair, right????? Good luck with your game. You have a lot going for you.

Steve,

Thank you for your kind words. That was a fun tournament in Canada. I tried to beat all of the boys. Now I just try to stick to beating Jeanette herself :) Be sure to say hi in Vegas. I guess I will excuse you're rooting against me if I am playing a Canadian. It is only fair.

Take care and thanks again,
Sarah

Howdy!

Hello people. Markenstein here.
I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Miss Sarah Rousey in San Diego. Her mother mentioned to me that her daughter was pretty good. Gadzooks, after seeing her shoot 1 game I realized that was a gross understatement. Sarah is incredible. Her breaks are more dramatic than a Gretzky slapshot and a Sosa dinger combined. Quite spectacular.
Sarah, I thank you for joining me in watching the final match between Jeanette and Allison. Your hushed perspective heaped on the already tense play made my first WPBA tourney over the top exciting. What a gas!
Maybe I'll zip out to Vegas and see you there. I'll definately see you next year out here in San Diego. At your rate of play, where will you be by then Sarah? I'm guessing somewhere in the top 10.
I very much enjoyed your company and your game.
Please say hello to your mother for me.
