awhile ago i was bout to play and my team had a side bet with me that i couldnt beat this guy 3 zip and i took the bet so we start p laying and the guy starts sangbagging long story short i win 3 zip and win the cheese!!!!! lol thanxz sb!

You are probably right. But what I find is that the guys who think they are being cozy and sandbagging are also the ones that are most obvious. I have rarely seen a 7-8-9 (I do 9 ball) that could hide their speed for long. And at least in my area I usually know them. Most of the guys that are that high generally (but not always) have pride in their numbers. Who we are talking about are the3's that should be a 5. And the 5's that could/should be a 6. But when you recognize they are sandbagging you need to play them differently. You need to play them like they are the higher ranked player. I haven't had any adult beverages yet (NFL Championship games are not on yet!) so, I hope I don't sound like a total a-ho; but I took my biggest step up in pool when I stopped worrying about the other guy and just played the table and understood that I was the only person responsible for winning or losing my match. If I missed a shot, it didn't matter if he was sandbagging. If I missed shape or a safety I was the one that hit it. If he is a 4 that should be a six, play him differently. When he realizes that you are better than he thought and you are on to him, watch for the old el foldo....
I saw a game where both the players were missing deliberately a straight in type shots, leaving a safe or even an other straight in shot. So I asked why they did this, the reply was because they both thought it was not ready to run out the table. Sure enough, the guy that did try the run out got 7 down and snookered on the 8. The other guy won.So my 1st thougts were that both these guys were sandbagging each other, but it was more like a game of chess.
Once a ball was sunk, most games lasted no more than that inning.
So to win you must play your game as you see it and don't miss. As they both said to me , who ever misses 1st will loose.

I don't worry about what my handicap is or if it is going to go up. I let the captain of the team worry about it. If you don't want me to go up, play me against people I can't beat.
