Sarah is on the doorstep of making her climb into the top 16 on the WPBA points list and has been seen taking on the men at the recent Viking Tour events.

To get us started, maybe Sarah can tell us her feelings on getting into the open events and taking on the men.

I just wanted to say a congratulations to sarah. While I have no desire to do this myself, I admire all of the hard work you have done to get their, and of course your talent.;)

Sarah,
I got a chance to see you play this past weekend in Columbus at Cornfed's. You have a killer break and really handle yourself well around the table.
You will go far if you keep it up. Just wanted to wish you the best rolls and much future success. You almost took Putnam down first round, I know you made him sweat, for sure.

Peace,

Joe Koontz

Well, first off, thank you for all the kind words. I appreciate the support.

Joe, yes, I had way too many chances to beat Shawn Putnum. Maybe next time. I guess I can't be too upset about losing to the person who won the tournament.

My feelings about playing in the open events? I love it. I think playing better players is the only way to learn something. In every set that I play I watch what the other player does and learn something new. Even if I don't make it to the money or the second day, I leave with whatever I have learned from my competition. And of course, I am there to try and beat the better players. I like to see some of the guys faces when I beat them or when I break. It's nice to show them that girls aren't afraid to play with them and even better to get the respect and friendship of a guy who may not have respected a female pool player at the beginning of the match.

Sarah, Why not put a pic of yourself up so AZ fans will know who you are. You could simply attach one like Zim does in his posts.
Best of luck to you in the future!

Hey everyone, this is me.

Hey everyone. I posted the big picture before I figured out how to put it under my name. So sorry about that.

Hi Sarah. You are one hell of a player. If you ever get up to the northeast and have some time, come play on the Joss Tour. Mike Zuglan would love to have you. karen just finished 4th last weekend. Don't remember if Julie cashed or not. But they both say they love the tour and it definately keeps them both sharp. Karen has cashed in several events and won 1 beating Jim Rempe. I have seen her beat rempe, Ginky and Mika. So come play sometime. The welcome mat will always be there............mike p.

Thank you Mike,

I wish I lived closer to the Joss tour. There are alot of great players there and it would be a great experience. Maybe someday if I get a chance I can make it out that way. I think it is great that Karen and Julie for playing in those tournaments. I wish more women would realize it is a great experience. Since I can't make it to play on the Joss tour anytime soon I will continue playing on the Viking tour and hopefully win one the way Karen has won the Joss tournaments.

Will you be playing in the Viking tourney in Northfield OH next weekend?

No, I can't make it to the tournament in Northfield. It starts at the same time as the WPBA tournament in Oregon. I played last weekend in Columbus. I wish I could make it to Northfield as well. Hopefully next year that tournament and the WPBA tournament won't conflict so I can make it to both.

Hey Sarah, good luck over here in Lincoln City. Hopefully you make it to Sunday. A friend and I will be heading down from Portland to watch. Not too often any pros come to the northwest. Varner came through on an exhibition earlier this year but thats about it.

Well, if you make it there during the week and not just sunday, be sure to introduce yourself. And thanks for the support.

Sarah
