Savannah “The RoadRunner” Easton using a wood shaft?

I heard she won the 680 and under Fargo event at Griffs last week using a new shaft that she got less than a week before.

Same shaft Morra has used for a few weeks, and played well, believe its called Halo.

She went undefeated, and also got some calcutta money. She's been playing great lately.

She is 700+ level. Just waiting for Fargo to catch up.

Not really, it isnt.

In fact Savannah would jump to a whole new level if she switched to CF. She just doesn't know it yet.
How so?

My Z3 has less deflection than most CF on the market, so how would that help me if I made the switch?

Besides durability and longevity, what can a CF shaft do to help someone "jump to a whole new level"?

The only thing I can think of is increased transfer of energy, which doesn't really mean much in the grand scheme of things if you already know how to control the cue ball and are good at speed control.

Who cares lol I enjoy watching her play but who. F^&^ing. Cares. She likes the feel of a wood shaft better so that’s what she plays with cool I prefer cf What she or anybody plays with or doesn’t play with has nothing to do with what I do or don’t play with.

Savannah now plays with CF shafts on both her playing and breaking cues
Cue & Case may be behind the times---it has Savannah playing with a Lucasi Pro Kielwood laminated

The videos from the Soaring Eagle event show her with the new black shaft. The kielwood shaft was part carbon fiber so technically she has been using carbon tech for quite awhile.

She took tied for ninth in the latest event.

My friend who is the best player in our pool room, uses my Predator Blak break cue with a hard tip as his playing cue. He has run five racks on a row in eight ball. Go figure.

EXACTLY. These threads about what pros use or god-forbid 'those that stick to wood' queries are beyond tired. Look folks, all these top players could run out with a bar cue. They get EVERYTHING free and in most(ALL??) cases they are gettin jellied for using the: cue/shaft/chalk/glove/case you see them with. Same thing with golf: DO NOT base your equip. choice(s) on what some pro uses.

It has nothing to do with deflection. a CF can have more deflection and you will be better with time. Its more got to do with consistency plus helping you achievement the perfect timing with every single shot, in pool it's all about timing.

Timing is determined by technique, not shaft type

Yeah I disagree.

True, until you play with a CF then you will see that this specific type of shaft will actually automatically help you with timing. I know its hard to imagine it. I was shocked as it actually does.

I am not here to sell anyone to play with CF, but its a reality that ppl who still have the lines of "Oh but but i love the feel of wood" will never understand this. I've had friends who are elderly, i'm speaking of 50-60 yrs of age, these fellas play at one poolhall for many many many years, most of them had been plateaued at one level where in rotation 9ball they pot 3-4 balls then miss a silly shot, maybe an inside english shot etc. Some of these fellas remained at these levels for 30 yrs or as long as i've known them. The moment they switched to CF and just within months they started running racks more consistently, these same guys can run 3 racks in a row now which they've never achieved on wood for their whole 30 yrs of daily playing pool.

Anyway I'm convinced about this and nobody can change my mind, whenever you've accepted the switch and accepted that its good for you, only then you will realize this fact. It is a matter of time, probably in 20-30 yrs nobody will ever touch wood again.

Plenty of wood shafts are low deflection, it's not like wood means using a beat up bar cue or nothing else
