So I was just looking at the expo website…

previously the event was listed as the 19-23rd of April….

now it’s moved forward a week?

and conflicting info?? Already had my hotel lined up and got time off of work. Now gonna have to go thru the pain of switching that!

I don't know where you are getting the info. All over the site has the 13-16. It's been listed for those dates since January. I scheduled my vacation for that time

When I paid my entry a couple weeks ago it was still the week of the 19th. 🙄 But maybe it was listed with both dates which appears to still be a problem.

I booked my hotel right after paying my entry. O well I guess now the work begins to change everything.

I was on their site looking at photos and see pics of 7' and what appear to be 9' tables, but the pic was faded.
On what size tables are the amateurs playing?
Thanks

Everything I`ve ever seen was amateurs are playing on 7 foot Diamonds. The Pro arena had the 9 footers.
I booked my hotel a month ago & everything I see on the SBE site, has this happening April 13-16
Hope this helps

Did you find a prior year's info previously?

I had to be very persistent to get paid tournament winnings. 4 calls later the check actually was in the mail. I think last even they had some cash flow issues.
I mean this is Hopkins and he's screwed over people with the covid years. I wouldn't expect anything less. I'm still hearing stories today about this.

There is a website that allows you to look back in time at websites. It is called archive.org. It saves about one snapshot of every website on the internet each month. When I look back at superbilliardsexpo.com I see:

May 24, 2022 -- old info from 2022, nothing changed -- dates listed April 18-24, 2022
July 3, 2022 -- "Our site is down for updates..." April 13-16, 2023 prominently displayed
Dec. 8, 2022 -- same as July
Jan. 31, 2023 -- Site updated, apparently like the current version, April 13-16 shown.

From this it seems that the old dates may have been listed until as late as July 2nd. The new dates seem to have been displayed on the main page starting on July 3rd or as early as May 25th. I did not check for dates on any sub-pages.

That’s a cool piece of info!!

i think what likely happened is they changed the title but there was some verbiage with the old dates also.

thanks!

A lot of times the no so great processes of the smaller organizations miss a lot of things that should be done, like making sure all the web sites and public info is updated and old info removed. It's like places that are out of business still being listed or having their signs on the roadside, or even having websites up that you can place orders at but that go to no-where. I remember there was some billiard shop that was closed or closing, so all the orders went through fine with payments being taken, but the orders were never actually done.

In many situations the problem is that the same info is written down in a lot of places. This was the case with the rules of pool. The same rule was repeated in three or four places in the rule book and something had to be changed and not all of the copies of the rule were found. I think at one point in the BCA rule book, there were three different versions of the same rule. A major goal of the 2008 rules revision was to have each rule appear only once.

The current Expo site seems to have solved the date problem by having a common banner at the top of every page with the dates including the year. I believe the banner is defined in one place for all pages. Hopefully if someone does stumble across an old page that says March 9-12 they will figure there is something wrong.

I did not check all of the pages on the old Expo site for all of the dates. Perhaps Watson could do that. Or Lestrade -- that should keep him out of trouble. ;)
