Just an idea guys.

I went to SBE last year for the first time and I loved it!!! With that being said, I honestly didn't care for the venue. Yeah I know its back to the old this year but I cant help but think wouldn't AC be that much better? Casinos, poker, 24 hour drinks, dirty whores ( lol );)

Point being its really close to where they are now but I believe they could draw a MUCH LARGER crowd in AC. Reason being: the women!

While for sure not all but prob most pool players NEED to get permission from their girl to go to a multi day pool event prob out of state none the less.Now im not bad mouthing this; but I do feel sad for them so im trying to help.

Most women have never met a one armed bandit they didn't like ( at least initially) so u could bill it as " little Vegas" and get mommy on board for this as the family vacation. NO WOMAN REFUSES A VEGAS TRIP EVER!!!!

I think Allen Hopkins thought about it countless times for he LIVES only minutes away from A.C. (Absecon, NJ). I think he's had this idea cross his mind over 20 years ago but he must 'see something' NOT beneficial to him from some aspect or another. I believe the reason it is being moved out of NJ back to Pa is because of a 'tax issue' that is present in Nj. If i remember correctly, last time I checked A.C. is in South Jersey. :-)

You sure are correct! Several major vendors would have refused to show up this year because of the BS pullled by the NJ Tax agents. Don't think Allen will be back to Jersey anytime soon.

There's also an ivory ban in New Jersey now which would make things difficult for cue vendors.

There's also a ban on Hollow Point Ammunition in NJ as well and that would make things difficult for...never mind. ;)
 
I do understand the issues with Jersey but that kind of shat can always be resolved in way or the other. Now as far as AC , they are pretty bad off( for any investors that are into spec I believe this is a GREAT area - 4 bedroom beach fronts for 30k!!! Come on now!) anyway they are pretty much desperate for business so ALL CASINOS would likely be VERY accommodating to something like this.i just think it would be awesome!!!

Now as far as PA, I LOVE PA AND WISHED I LIVED THERE.MD SUCKS! In every way except topography. I've spent a lot of time in PA and I love it everytime.
 
The sheer cost would not work for Allen.
To rent out the AC convention center would be big $$$$.
There would be NO bargins there on the space.
Allen is a smart businessman and has worked out deals on Convention space and Hotels in the past. Don't think AC would work out deals to make it as profitable.

well I am no longer in the know but I still must disagree. Im sure the casinos left there would be quote happy to deal.

That is ****ing SAD!!! I get so pissed when any friend says something like that!!!!:angry:
Be a man. BTW I'm married for 22 yrs. I think those that talk about "permission" are just born followers. They enjoy their wife planning all their free time.
 
Spoke to someone who works with Allen last year on this and there are several factors but the two that come to mind and have been mentioned by folks that are "in the know" on this are "Venue Costs and Taxes/Fees".

Personally, I'm glad they moved it back to PA (I live in Maryland).
 
I may have just been there in wrong month but i thought AC was THE biggest s%^thole i've ever seen. Probably even worse now what with 4 major casinos going tits-up. That place is rapidly nearing it's expiration date.
 
The problem setting up anywhere within 1 hour of a casino is there will be guys going there and not spending money with vendors. He might even have the problem at the oaks since the casino is technically the old place.

500 dollar case, or poker... hmmmmmmmmmm Oh well I already have a case...
