Dennis' work is just spot on as always. He sets a very lofty standard in every way. The work in this cue is just amazing!!

Hey tank, thank you nice seeing you too,,Ken

MD, thanks for the ncie words on this cue just amazing,,BR,Ken

All inlays have a silver outline and the details are just awesome.
Dennis really is pushing the edge with his inlay work.
Wish there was better lighting but here is a small peak at the inlay work in the points.

if i'm not mistaken Dennis told me that the silver border in the small forearm propellers was .004 (4 thousandths!!)....just incredible.....pushing and pushing the tolerance envelope further and further.....he said he was gonna do it and i know this is just the beginning........

Ken, you are a very lucky man!.....

Thank you Skins,,i am very lucky.!! i have a few offers on it now ,,so i am thinking them over,,cues should be done shortly,,It is one hell of a cue i am going to hate to let this one go,,I got two cues now only for my personal collection The Ivory Handle Seven Wonders by Joel Hercek and a Fancy Schick, I am hoping to be able to keep in the next two years a Searing , Barry ,Showman, and Haley to round off my collection,,i like to keep a few other guys but i am not in the position now to do so,,I will add a gus as my lucky 7th

Best Regards
Little Kenny

good luck with working towards "the" collection you desire....as for me, the cue that Dennis is making for me will not be for sale.....same with a special one that Barry S. will make for me as well....they're just too special and mean too much to me.....just as special as the cue and case combo that Pete T. and Marc T. made for me.....the only thing with that set is i told my wife if somethin' crazy were to happen to me, God forbid, it goes to one special person...they know who they are......

enjoy this cue as long as you can....it's worth it!.....:)

Hello Kenny boy my friend,

Had an awesome time at your party....you actually looked kinda good with the apron.

You and Angie can invite me over anytime.

Dennis really hit the mark on this cue the inlay work is flawless and the detail needs to be seen in person with a loop. The cue is absolutely perfect...

When it comes to cues you are the man!!

Until that time,

Scott (the other Scott)

Hi Kenny,

Hope to see you both soon to then,,,

This cue needs to be bumped back to the top with a couple of extra pictures that were passed on to me.

First let us revisit the butt sleeve and look at the entire butt sleeve with the propeller.

Searing-1.jpg

When you zoom and take a look at the inlay, please note that the thickness of the silver is exactly 0.010" thick.
Kind of hard to comprehend for most but that is approximately the thickness of almost 3 sheets of paper (20 pound stock paper is 0.0035" thick).
The center inlay is about the size of the head of a pin so the inlay work is small and the edges are extremely sharp.
The entire propeller inlay in silver was completed as one continuous piece.

Now let us look at the point work veneers and the inlay.
Here is my original picture.

Searing-2.jpg

Now the zoomed in picture that I recieved today.
Once again, the entire propeller inlay in silver was completed as one continuous piece.
The thickness of the silver is exactly 0.004" thick.
In this case it is less than the thickness of 1 sheet of paper.

Nice photo detail Myron. Having spent a recent weekend with Dennis Searing at his shop, I can say with certainty that even with the best of equipment and know how, this kind of work is very painstaking and time intensive. There can be several hours of patient labor in drawing, coding, cutting, testing and pocketing each inlay! Dennis is on a new frontier with precison inlay borders at .010 with sharp detail. The precise, purposeful and dedicated approach to cue construction that also extends to the inside of the cue, is all in the service to achieve exellence in each cue.

Kenny

Thanks...
The pictures posted vertically are mine.
The pictures posted horizontally are from Kam's camera when he visited Dennis.

All I did was post them and put up the facts on the thin line art work in silver borders.
Great stuff and may have to make sure that cue comes my way.
UP THE ANTE...

Myron
