SBX hasn’t issued refunds yet

As per Hopkins website those who canceled the 2020 event and wanted a refund would have to wait 2 years for their refund. Allegedly 30 days after the event, because they used our money and didn’t have it to refund everyone.

Well it’s 30 days past and no refunds. Myself and several women pro players haven’t had their refunds and I’m aware of more than another dozen folks who haven’t received their refunds and Hopkins Sr and Jr are ignoring calls.

So how many others are there? Who canceled decided not to play this year and didn’t receive a refund yet?

Attorney General in New Jersey has been contacted and I’d like to know how many others were promised refunds.,

Sadly this is the pool world. They hate when guys like you remember. 2 years is enough time for people to forgive and forget.

Is there a contract?
What’s a contract have to do with paying for an entry fee, one to a tournament, and two to a “show” under New Jersey law where they operate within 30:days of canceling an event for which tickets are sold online a refund should be issued. They should be lucky no one has sued sued them yet. But that’s coming if Allen Hopkins continues to ignore us.

exactly, a female pro player messaged me when she saw my review on SBX Facebook page, she’s out $525.00 requested a refund and has patiently been waiting. Thankfully I’m only out $100 but our entry fees have been what’s been paying Allen’s Bills and that’s illegal under New Jersey law, it’s misappropriation of funds.

Had Allen not been using our money to live off from, we would have had a refund. And they wanted to issue refunds 30 days after the event hoping they’d make a profit and be able to afford the refunds.

I’ve sent a detailed message to the New Jersey Attorney General, next will be the local police in his town where his business operates, signing a second statement and pursing criminal charges. He’s been warned, the clock is ticking; and he’s ignoring anyone requesting their money back. Meanwhile, of thier website there is a clear policy that refunds would be sent. We all requested them and followed their own policy, (even though it was illegal) and still nothing. Legally they should have refunded those who requested it within 30 days.

So enough is enough, I’ve written and today spoken to someone at the attorney generals office next step is criminal charges.

Well I still recall the Phoenix feasting called Desert Shoot Out were players, TD, and other got shafted.

Put a BLACK MARK ON MAP CALLED Phoenix Arizona, and believe it was last time Player traveled long distance to compete in Phoenix.

Let’s just say event did not go as advertised.

Interesting read 🤭

probably spend more on court/legal/lawyer fees than you're gonna get back. if you win all you may end up with is a judgement which is often worth about the same as the sheet of paper its printed on. actually getting $$ may be far more of a hassle than its worth.

What do you mean "what does a contract have to do with it"? It means everything as it pertains to your rights.

When you signed up, online or otherwise, what did you agree to when you signed up?

I agree with Garczar that your winning the case wont make your wallet feel any better. A lawyers wallet will feel better, but not yours.

Arbitration may be the better course of action.

I signed up for the original EXPO that was canceled due to Covid.
I got my refund promptly as did my son.

Not everyone has and “promptly”? So in 2020 you got the refund or 30 days after the 2022 Expo as Allen has been claiming everyone will be getting refunds? You are the exception, because we’re hearing from dozens of people who haven’t been refunded!

I agree, I’ve been involved in several law suits, I’m a Licensed Private Investigator and we working closely with dozens of lawyers and assist with many types of litigations.

It’s the principal of the manor. Hopkins owns his house, if there’s a judgement rest assured it will be collected and paid out!

Their having a house does not ensure you will collect on a judgement. If they ever go to finance another house that can help your odds because finance companies often but not always want the debts showing on you credit report paid off as part of the conditions for financing you, but I don't know that their just being a current home owner does all that much for you. At Allen's age I'm also guessing it is a lot less likely than it is likely that he will ever finance another house.

yes there is defiantly some truth to that, but if we don’t hear anything I have a law firm that will file this as a class action, on behalf of everyone who has been scammed by Hopkins’ fake news refund policy.

Does his state have a homestead exemption law? These protect a base amount of equity from seizure. Mortgage lien + HE = judgment proof home.

They have been unreachable via email this last month since the Expo occurred.

They misspelled my name on the results page. I emailed them asking to correct it and hoping they don't use the wrong name for reporting Fargo info, which they have yet to do as well.
