Hi all,
I recently acquired this rare and unique Schick cue made by Bill Schick in 2012 which was on display at the ICCS show in Las Vegas last November. The full splice blank was made
by his good friend Burton Spain and Bill was provided the opportunity to make the blank into a wrapless tribute to his friend.
Bill Schick and Burton Spain were longtime friends, and over the years Bill has told me several times of the treasured friendship he had with Burton, and how Burton liked not only to golf
but also really liked poetry. According to Bill, on more than one occasion Burton "dragged" him off to listen to poetry readings at some locale.
The four windows in the buttsleeve: Burton Spain; Cue Maker; Poet; Golfer . I find the cue has a whole lot of "Burton", and just enough "Bill" in it.
I acquired the cue at the Derby a few weeks ago, and am really pleased to have the cue in my collection. I find myself picking the cue up over and over again, and finally decided to post
the cue here in the Gallery. It is one of my favorite cues.
The pictures were taken at the ICCS by Kevin Brewer, and herein I am pirating them for this thread. I sure cannot take pictures this good, and am really glad Kevin took some pictures of the cue at the ICCS.
Thanks Kevin!!
