I wasn't really sure where to post this but has anyone ever made or even ever seen Joint Protectors for a Shmelke cue. Not sure if it even needs them. Those big brass joints are built like tanks but still curious. I could probably just use a nut and bolt:grin:

I've seen the plastic cap from the leg of a folding chair used to protect the threads on the pin.

Good question. I've owned a number of those cues over the years. NEVER seen a joint protector. I did go out looking for a nut and bolt in that thread size. NEVER found one; It's a tight (threads per inch) thread for it's large diameter.

If anyone can do it, would be Jim Baxter, Joint Protector Master, on this site.

Yeah thanks 8ball. I have had Jim make me a few sets already. I'll have to pm him and see what he says.

This might still be still be too small.
I have 2 very old Schmelkes(about 35 yrs old) and I think they are 9/16 x 16 flat faced.

What part of bubble envelope & first class mail with DC# for $3 can't they understand? Maybe some personal contact would help. Good Luck
