Has anyone played with these cues. I think they're called Black widow (BW2). From what I can tell, the only difference is the clear coating over the wrap, correct? So, they should feel the same as other Schons?? Kind of like the Meccui ???
These have been around for a long time...at a decade or more. It's Schon's version of a sneaky pete. I bought one at least 5-6 years ago that was cocobolo instead of ebony. Those were very nice cues...but a little heavy.

I'm not 100% sure we're talking about the same cues. These, I thought, are new models and it just has clear coating over an existing wrap. They are not just wood under the clear coating; it has a wrap under the clear coating. Looks just like the Meucci.
I dont understand why the big confusion??
It is a Schon, it will still hit like a Schon. Evan decided to wrap the newer ones with black linen and clearcoat the wraps instead of coring an ebony handle piece. It wont change the hit or playability of the cue. It saves a lot of time in construction and materials so the cost on these is in the 500-600 range instead of the 1000 range like the older ones.

I am new to the forum and this is my first reply to any thread. I have had my BW-4 for about 3 weeks. This is the 8 point model with 3 sets of rings. As stated it's a Schon and it hits like a Schon (I have other Schons also). Although the handle area doesn't look wrapped it is. Then it's covered with finish much like a Meucci. I have the Schon shafts, Predator 314, Z, and Z2 shafts that I have played on it and currently prefer the Z2 with a Moori medium. This combination gives me a good solid hit with very good feed back for a LD shaft cue. I Like the cue very much and I think it is very reasonably priced. If you like Schon cues you will like this one.
