Schon Cue Id Gallery

pool cues 001 (640x480).jpg

It is a limited model

I could be wrong here, but I believe the R7 you have listed is a SP line remake of the original R7. I don't think it belongs in the R series list.

I have an ST-13 and I dont see the ST line of cues sir

I've added a few ST models to the Gallery,,,,,,,,there are several I don't have yet so if anyone else has images and positive ID on older ST's they would like to contribute it would be quite helpful,,,,,,,,thanks

nope, you are not wrong at all,,,,,,,,I have it fixed now,,,,,,,thank you

never hurts to have a second set of eyes,,,,,,,,,,,,

I know people have been wanting this to be done for a long time!!! I'm not sure what stopped others from doing it...likely it being time consuming was the culprit!

Thank you for starting/attempting/accomplishing this monumental task!!!

Jason

I have now added the SH, ST, and SL lines to the Gallery,,,,all examples I have been able to find so far,,,,,I would like anyone who has any of these cues, or CX and LTD cues that I don't have listed to either post them in my Gallery or here in this thread so I can get this listing as complete as possible. I know there are quite a few models that have been discontinued, so owners posting images of them is the best source for getting them all listed. Any assistance in this effort will be greatly appreciated,,,,,,and I hope,,,,,,a useful tool for everyone in the future.

Thanks,

I have a Schon from the mid 90's or so and I emailed Evan about it and he said

"Hi,
Never named this, I just made a few of them…Evan"

Do you have a section in there for ones with no names?

Hi, no, I don't actually have a no name section,,,,,,,,and initially I would say lets place it in the Unique section, since these are all one of a kind,,,,,however, since Evan's statement says he "made a few", then one of a kind don't seem to be accurate enough.

In the spirit of accuracy,,,,,let's do this,,,,,,I will set up a new section momentarily, named "Schon-Custom Builds", and if possible, I would like to get images from you, as well as a copy of the response from Evan, for verification that the cue is indeed a custom. You can either post it in the Gallery, post it here, or email it to me at jfpowers@embarqmail.com and I will add it to the Gallery.

Thank you very much,,,,,,,,the older rare ones are great additions.

EDIT-just added a category for this circumstance:

Thanks again

Email sent, you may want me to take better pictures, there are more details to the cue but it's kinda hard to see because all the points are the wood color, but there are more then one points on there. (I do not know if "points" is the correct word).

I also sent you a LTD 317 that I use to have.

Thanks Steve,,,,,,I got the pics posted in the gallery,,,,,,the pics are fine, but if you would like to try and get some better ones I'll be glad to post them.

Thanks again,,,,,

The one in my avatar (below the R12) isn't listed. Not sure where it would go. Maybe pre S series cue section? I will see if I can find the pics and post them.

Just a heads up on this type of "situation"...I too had emailed Evan a few years ago on a Schon...he essentially said the same thing...if I remember right, he said something to the effect of "prior to the internet, a lot of the cues didn't have model #'s, so this one wasn't given a model number..."

However, my cue is a SPITTING image of an SL17...with the exception being that mine has blue-grey veneers rather than red veneers in the "catalogue" SL17...odd that I would be told mine didn't have a model number...

The other issue is going to be that somewhere along the lines, Schon did a "redesignation" of certain model numbers...where they essentially "switched" the models to accomodate another line...I DON'T KNOW the specific details on this information, but there are some Schon "experts" who could chime in on this one...

I bought this off of a guy who said he bought it new in 1988 but I don't know anything about it. I emailed schon a while back and never heard anything. I would like to know anything someone might know about it. Model, price or anything. sorry for the poor pics but wife took the good camera on vacation.

There are a multitude of models I have seen that varied in finishes, veneer colors, woods used, and stitch ring designs from production run to production run, likely depending on materials on hand, or available, when they decided to make the particular cue run.

Also,,,,,from what I can determine, the SH line appears to consist of older model LTD cues, redesignated as an SH series number, and I "think" exclusively for JJcue distributors,,,,,,similar to how the CX line is only produced for Cuestix International. Every one of the SH cues I have seen are marked "Schon LTD"on the buttcap.

I don't know for sure what it is, but I'm adding it to my list to get identified. Meanwhile,,,,,I think you should send it to me for a very long period of "inspection". LOL. Very nice traditional Schon there,,,,,,,

I can't even stand to part with it to get shafts cleaned and new tips put on. I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 22 cues and I love to shoot with this one. I should add that it has 2 original shafts but they don't have schon stamped on them but they are the original shafts when the cue was new.

One of the very first Schon cues

Not sure where you would put this one.

hmmmmmmmmm,,,,,,another test

thanks mattb, I've added it in the un-id'd forum,,,,,if we can find anything I'll let you know.

thanks,

I meant I was not sure where you put it in your forum. It is one of the first cues produced when Schon formed. Bob Runde could not remember if it was made for someone specifically or not, but it is one of the very first. There is no model number for this cue.

R12 and R13

Here are a few pictures of the R13 in the typical ebony and red veneer combo. The ebony ones are nice but every one I have had my hands on is heavy. The other is the R12 with black/natural/black/natural veneer combo.
