i feel like my cue is a little heavy at 19.4oz so i tried to turn it down by replacing the weight bolt.my problem is ,i can't get the weight bolt out.I think it was glued in.i thought if i heat up a quarter and hold it with plier then use it as my screw driver,it would soften the glue inside and be able to remove the bolt.but i was too scared to break the butt cap.it was a little warm as well after a minute of applying heat on the bolt.could anybody tell me what they do to remove the bolt that is glued inside?
 
I use the smaller hobby soldering iron to remove weight bolts in sensitive areas. Usually the round tip that comes standard with the small irons fit inside the threaded bolt, or close enuff to get part of it inside.

Heating a weight bolt takes quite a bit more time than using a mini torch to remove a pin, so patience is needed. It will come.

Its a good idea to use a couple of paper towels, wet them and wrap them around the butt cap. When the screw gets hot enuff to melt the glue, it will also be hot enuff to heat the cap. Believe me, it can get real hot.

Other than that, be patient and it will come. Try it every so often, when it starts to budge, keep unscrewing it. Goes without saying, you don't want to leave it in long enuff to melt the glue holding the cap on.

I ended up cutting a piece of metal to fit the thread of the weight bolt and using an adjustable wrench to hold on to the piece of metal and having a friend hold the cue while I turned it. The glue is tough and it takes a few times to get it loose. The heat is the key sure enough just be careful and persistent. Why in the world they put those in with glue?

Reasons for the glue. Its not a "weight bolt", its an assembly bolt meant to keep the butt cap on and therefore tight. Second, you dont want it to ever develop a rattle from becoming loose.
They do use steel/aluminum depending on what balance they are shooting for, but its not meant to be a consumer customizable weight system like say Mcdermott.
