Schon Cue

I have a Schon cue that is nothing like I have ever seen. I truely love the design, but I don't like Stainless Steel joints. I was wondering if I wanted to change the joint to a ivory sub. material, who is the best cuemaker to do this work. Taking the stainless streel off and replacing it with maybe white Phenolic.

I need to know whom may do the best job and this task?

Thank you for your time...

Does Schon not offer that service? I always thought it was best to use whatever cuemaker produced the cue to work on the cue...

You should contact Schon to see if they can make the change, I have seen Schon cues with piloted Ivory joints, this would enable you to keep the shafts. Also, I know the James White does a really nice piloted ivory joint, you might contact him.

Can probably be done by any reputable cue maker who would accept the job. I would check with Ryan Theewen (PM Ratcues), Jerry R, or even Craig R (Manwon) may take the job.

I asked Evan Clark about replacing the SS joint with an ivory joint on a Schon Ltd I owned and he said "No". I had a real nice Schon Ltd that was too heavy for me and he said I had to live with it the way it was. I sold the cue.

A friend of mine had Rick Howard http://www.macecues.com/ replace a SS joint with ivory on his cue and he did a very good job. You couldn't tell that the ivory joint didn't come on his cue new. He was very reasonable on the price also. I'd contact Rick and ask him about replacing your joint with an ivory joint.

Jerry Rauenzahn can help you with this. His turn around time is very fast and the workmanship is fantastic.
