Here is a cue I just acquired. I was told this cue is an early one around the same time that the S Series was being produced. If anyone has any additional info it would be appreciated. Thoughts on what kind of wood this is? I don't think it's Cocobolo. The wrap is original as well as one shaft. The other has a shorter collar. The joint is a flat faced implex. Feels NICE!!!
Thanks.

The Implex joint suggests it's an early Schon. First year catalog (1981) is the only year with Implex joints. However, since this is a custom cue, I supppose someone could have ordered one with it.

On ths Schon site, there is a cue that has the same or similar wood that they've described as Macassar Ebony. I wouldn't have thought so, but I'm no wood expert.

Nice pick-up.If this is the cue I'm thinking of I had it in my hands. It's in great shape.I know Troy "KOINNKID"has had 2 or 3 of these over the years.I believe there was 30-40 of these made in the early 80's.

Thanks BigJ. I got this cue off eBay just recently. The original shaft is about 14mm. I might have to knock it down a bit. Plays great. It's rare when you buy a cue from a pawn shop and it's actually straight, original and in good condition.
