Schon Joint Protectors

I have a challenge to all who can build joint protectors out there.

I have a Schon CX-02 and I am looking to have a set of Joint protectors made for them. I would like them to match the style of the cue. It is BEM with 5 Ebony points and Ivory star inlays. In the butt is has Ivory stars and diamonds. I would like a set with 1 for the butt and two shafts for when I buy another shaft. I would also like some sort of way to distinguish the difference between the two shafts without having to take them out of the case. I look forward to seeing some designs or ideas.

Thanks,

BVal

Brady,

Chad Carter used to make custom wood joint protectors, but I think he has sold his equipments and switched over to making cues.

If you go to the "Wanted/Sales Forum" and post this, you will get a lot more replies and options.

Brady,

I like your new Schon. Classic design and nice color combo. I hope you enjoy it. I shot with a CX-55 for years before switching to some different cues. I'll always have a fondness for Schon cues.

Are you playing with the shafts/tips unmodified?

Thanks Ray,
Yeah I haven't done anything to the shaft or tip yet - I figured I would have you shape it for me LOL :D:D:D:D I like the way it hits straight from the factory :)

I am fairly careful with my equipment and pretty much always have it cased between matches, but the one thing that always ends up in the bottom of my case is the joint protectors.

For every new cue I have got, I used the joint protectors for about the first week and then just stopped putting them on when casing my cue.

If it were me, I would spend the $85 bucks to have Pranke put on a leather wrap...(instead of the JPs)...but that is just me...;)

Good looking cue...am guessing you are wanting to play more since you got it....:)

I have and use the JP's so for me it is a good investment. I am thinking about putting a leather wrap on it but I already have a guy who does an awesome job on them for a great price.

Thanks for the compliment on the cue and yes I want to play A LOT more now. This damn work thing keeps getting in the way of my playing and posting :)

I am playing in a Scotch Triples this weekend so that should be fun.

Brady,

Alton Takata (aka CueCaps) is your guy. He does phenomenal work and is great to work with. My set (1 butt, 4 shafts) was great but he has put out some truly sick (in the good way) JPs. He regularly splices points and does custom inlay.

Good luck,
Steve

Scotch triples? DEEZAM
My guess is that you only decided to play after Frost and Ellerman called and begged you for a week to start a team :D :D :D

I will build you a set of maple JPs with matching ringwork and an Ebony dot in one of the shaft caps so you can tell the difference.

Note to self on how to beat Brady: Switch Shaft Caps when he is not looking so he selects the wrong shaft....;)

(JUST KIDDING.....:p )
