Ebay listing number 120655378090,,,, This cue is listed on ebay as a second listing. I was interested in the cue at first. I contacted the seller and realized the seller was close to me so I met him and looked at the cue. In his listing he says the cue is in great condition. I have been doing cue repairs for the better part of 30 years. I like to think I know pool cues. I would not pay $10.00 for this cue. both shafts are junk. they are not even playable in my opinion and from what I could see the pin is off a little. I asked him to come with me and find a pool table so I could roll the cue to see how bad it was, he was not willing to do this. At that point I realized the cue and the seller was not worth my time. Just a fair warning to my fellow AZ'ers. It's hard to let a old schon with two shafts with micarta go by But this one was not cared for at all. The cue is really bad.

thanks for the heads up

It is a shame such a nice looking Schon is in this condition. I had looked at the cue a few times but did not bid on it. We are fortunate to have watchful eyes out there looking at things and warning others about what they find. This is what AZ is all about. I offer my thanks to you sir!

Thank You

Nice job posting the link. I wish i knew how to do that ha ha ha. Thank you very much That was great.. Happy holidays..

I agree what a shame, I was really disapointed when I say the cue.

cue care

I think it is just a shame that some people do not take care of their nice cues. I am anal with mine unless it is just a plain jane daily player that isn't worth much. But even then, I do not abuse it or put it in harms way. I try my best to keep what little I do have in tip top condition. I once saw a guy take his Richard Black and snap it over his knee after loosing a few hundred dollars in a match. This was a nice cue with a lot of work and in the early 80's to boot, no telling what it would have been worth today...bet it was at least 5x what he lost.

I know what you mean. As I mentioned I have been doing cue repairs for about 30 years now. I have seen more people take the cue out from the trunk of there car on there way in to the pool room. I always tell them that is the worst thing you can do to your cue. later they come to me and ask me if i can fix it. As far as seeing people break there cue after losing money or missing an easy shot after spending 30 plus years in a pool room I have seen many and as a cue repair man I always go around and pick up the pices. As for me my cue rest very nicely between me and my wife while we sleep, HA HA HA

eBay listing is down!

Thanks for the information... I looked at this listing too and mentioned it to a few friends. Always great to know AZ is looking out!

I want to thank you for the heads up. I got a Schon for $250 here on Az so a buddy asks me to keep a look out for a good deal on one. I gave him the info about this one. I would have felt terrible had he chased this one and won it only to be dissapointed and wind up costing him double to get it right. Thanks again Bob J

I saw a nice Joss West on ebay and sent the seller a question to see if he was willing to use an escrow service. I suggested Proficient Billiards and gave him the link to their site. He did not want to use the escrow service so I did not bid on the cue.
I far as I am concerned if you are buying a high end cue off ebay if you don't insist on an escrow service to complete the transaction well, then expect to get SCREWED. As the old saying goes "A Fool and His Money Soon Part"

Unlike AZ, Ebay offers 100% buyer protection! You are more likely to get burned on AZ, especially if you are not using PayPal. I've NEVER had a problem on Ebay!
Additionally, with the cost of Ebay fees and PayPal fees, would YOU be willing to spend an extra 10% for escrow service. I doubt it since you have not bought anything to date yet!
Frankly, I ignore requests from non-bidders on Ebay!

All eBay and Paypal protection offers is a guarantee that you will receive a package. Doesn't mean it has to show up in good condition. Once you sign the delivery confirmation, Paypal and eBay wash their hands of the deal. I haven't read their policy in a few months so maybe they are offering a 100% satisfaction guarantee now, but I doubt it.

About a year ago, I purchased a lot of cards from a couple in Utah. I wasn't satisfied with about 90% of them (I am OCD about that). I spent almost $400 total. They offered a 7 day money-back guarantee, but tried to reneg on it.

Needless to say, after about a week of back and forth with Ebay and these people, I got my money back.

Since Ebay bought out Paypal, I have nothing but positive things to say both as a buyer and seller.

Ebay even had a label ready for me to print out to send the stuff back

I have 287 feedbacks on Ebay and had 3 bad transactions, which PayPal got my money back. If there were any fraudlent descriptions they would step in on your behalf. There was one case where they froze someones checking account, who was reluctant to return my payment. You pay a commision, but you are protected.
